Finally got round to fitting the revlock 10 to my 600 pro today then I go & crash it due to a sick engine, I'm absolutly gutted
The engine seemed to be running very hot after a first test hover with revlock on it. I had already richened the mixture as a precaution because the weather was very hot today I did a quick flight then landed to check the back plate. It was red hot so I richened it up again, about another 4 clicks then flew it again. All seemed well & I started to get into my usual routine after my week off on my hols fishing. Then at the top of a large loop the engine almost cut.
I managed to get it upright again & swung her round to head quickly back to the patch for an emergency landing, but she was well behind the only tree & hedge row on that side of the patch & loosing height quickly with no power.
I just clipped the tree on the way past it & at that moment decided an arival just over the hedge was unavoidable so hit the hold & prayed the heli would land in the long grass this side of the hedge. It did land exactly where I had hoped but with a little more damage than I thought its basicaly done the blade grips the flybar main shaft & under carriage. On ariving at the crash the engine was burbling away nicely in the grass
I'm only guessing but I think it may have just been a blockage in the fuel system causing the hot run & me richening it probably wasnt my greates idea then the blockage cleared itself & the engine had no power due to being super rich.
