Could do I suppose though it would be a bit finnicky.
Also when you remove the LIPO you would be removing the switch too.
Give it a try. You can always move it later if it doesn't work.

I wouldnt do that. The Align 2-in-1's are not great at being handled often (as with most delicate electronics) and you are going to be whipping that battery off regulary as they only allow a max of about 5 flights before becoming dangerously low. A couple of wires actually came out of one of mine due to the wire being stressed. Like Adrian says, route the wire so the switch is near the fuel lines at the carb side, or I've seen some mounted just under the tail servo although this is tricky to get at the glow igniter and to check battery condition due to being under the canopy.

heres how i routed mine. i got the switch underneath the electronics tray secured by a velcro...but i might change it to servo tape. easy access under the canopy.

Thanks guys, diozxlive's installation looks the business, I like the blue cable wrap. I was just setting up my gyro and noticed in the align manual that a 5.1v step down is required for the Futaba 9254 servo - is this correct and how would it be wired in?

Oh, and btw, when I get to the Align Governor - I seem to have run out of connections on the rx - looks like I might need some sort of splitter lead somewhere??? Help please.

                HI Shaun,

if you have 7 channel then your OK. you'll need to plug the governor on the throttle and the throttle servo to the governor. i got 9 channel RX and only using 7 plugs.

you need a step down.... plugs between the 9254 and the gyro. the gyro has 3 set of wire (one goes to the rudder, gain, and one goes to the servo)

                  Hi Diozxlive,

I have 7 channels, with 7 plugs on the rx, but seem to have used them all - Aileron, Elev, Throt, Rudder, Gyro gain, Pitch, and rx power. I guess the power lead will have to come out but how do I provide power to the rx?

                  Regards
                  Shaun.

You will need a step-down as the 9254 can have problems running at 6V.
As Diozxlive said you will have enough outputs on the RX as long as you are running a 7 channel receiver.

Is it on a Futaba 7 channel 2.4 Rx? I used a Y lead for the power input when I used Futaba.

                        Hi Kerhs,

Yes! How did you connect the Y lead?

Y lead into channel 7 and the battery lead and remote gain lead into the Y lead.

Building my 600n I have come to page 21 and begun building the 3 x swash plate linkage rods.

The rods are 39.5mm long and I notice that once the plastic ball holders are fitted and adjusted to give the correct overall length there appears to be very little thread in the plastic ends. Has any body else noticed this and can a longer rod be obtained that would result in a safe amount of rod in plastic?

I see on another forum the build tip is to set the overall length of the rod a little longer by 1mm to obtain full vertical movement on the swash plate, but this will result in even less of the metal rod in the plastic ball cup.

                            Cheers
                            Andy

Not had any problems with the 600 links in this respect only found it in the 700 links.
Are you sure you haven't mixed up the rods?
i.e. used the longer ones for something else and your now left with the shorter ones?
How long are the rods on their own?
                              They should be 39.5mm.
                              Is everything centralised?(horns, bellcranks).

                                Hi Adrian,

Yes correct rods, if you look at pictures posted on this forum you will see a lot of thread left outside of the plastic rod. It is just something I have noticed as these rods appear short compared to others in the kit.
