I'm finding Phoenix to be a bit of pain in the backside with regards to updates and wonder if there's a way around it.
I hardly ever use it to be fair, so when I do go on, there's usually a load of updates to do which is fair enough. However the update process is clumbsy. Why? Because I have a seperate Administrator and user login on the computer. I do this because it helps with security and also helps to keep my stuff seperate and away from my Son's meddlesom fingers, who has his own login.
It seems that these days, only the Administrator can upload and install the updates. If I run the updates when I'm logged in as my user profile, they just fail every time. Software updates load up fine as Administrator, but model downloads end up in the Administrator's model directory, not the user's.
So, all-in-all, it's a right royal pain, and on the odd occasion that I do decide to have a go, I end up spending several hours wasting my life sorting all this stuff out, and by the time it's half way done, I've lost interest in actually having a go.
Any ideas? How can I getall the updates to run and install robustly from my user account when Phoenix doesn't give me an option to 'Run As Administrator' from within the update facility?
