Sorry for the delay, I've finally found the seat covering but sadly it won't be enough for what you need (sorry) but what I have got loads of is the thin white wire for the pipping around the seat edge, which really finishes the seats off, let me know if you want some, doing a great job on the seats!, foam will do instead of wadding.
All the hirobo 47g I've seen are not 1/4 scale but are 1/6 scale, I've seem many at scale events, the only one I know that's commercially available is the 1/4 scale by vario, I have seen photos a long time ago of scratch built 47g that look bigger than a 1/4 scale, electricsceadu is more wiser than me, perhaps he can enlighten us on this one.

Ahh, always thought the Hirobo 47G was bigger, never seen one in the flesh though.I must have got it confusrd with the Vario G3 which I know is quite a bit bigger than the G2.
Thanks for the offer of the wire for piping but I'll wait till I have them covered and see what they look like. Also may be a bit too fiddly for me to do. I'm even worried about covering the seats as the curves etc will show creases.
I think I will go with some faux suede fabric I've seen on ebay.
Thanks

If it's the same stuff I used it does stretch a bit round the corners I used thick cyno to hold it on the back and don't forget to use kicker to set the cyno quickly, then I used a sharp knife to trim the back of the seat so it was flat as possible, you will figure it out on a test piece and get the creases underneath the seat.

the hirobo bell47g2 is slightly bigger than the vario model
but not by much
the large hirobo you may be thinking about is the lama that they did with the os bx-1 glow engine
that was often replaced by a turbine

Managed to separate all the scale items from the centre console without any damage.
Then removed the console from the cockpit with relatively little damage to anything.
I've then glued a balsa face over the front of the console as I think it looks better flat, just waiting for the adhesive to dry then I can sand to shape and then add some rivet detail before priming and painting.
I will be painting the balsa covering black and the rest orange to match my colour scheme.
Just need to order some dials etc now.
If you need to make things like the battery or extra boxes for dials etc you can use plastic card, you can get it from ebay

There's a model shop around the corner from me, MJR Racing Models.Just checked on website and they do Plastic card.I need to get some paints etc so will sort that out tomorrow.
I've also got lots of different balsa so can make bits and pieces from that as well.I'm not too bothered about weight as there is a big lump of lead already in there so I can always remove that.
Also ordered the dials and some other bits and pieces from Aerocockpit in Czech Republic.I'm also on the lookout for a 1:6 scale pair of headsets if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Give tailored pilots a call, to see if he has any 1/6 scale headsets, I would personally ring him, than send an email, it might be quicker or the other option is to make them.

Lattice Boom and undercarriage at the powder coating company pick them up tomorrow.
I've started on painting the controls etc and by accident when painting the foot plates Aluminium I have rubbed a bit off.I was going to re-do them but I thought they might look ok as it looks like natural wear from feet.
I'll pop a picture on and let me know if it looks crap or should I leave as is.
Thanks
Picked up the boom and undercarriage from the powder coaters and I'm very pleased with the outcome (especially considering the price).
Also did some rivet detailing on the back of the centre console, but can't do anything else on it till my dials etc come and that can take about 4 weeks.
Started to put all the mechanics and electrics together after being cleaned.
Hopefully you don't have to wait to long for your dials, I think mine only took a couple of weeks, it's starting to look good.

Just a small update.
I've decided to do a scratch built console out of plasticard as I think the Vario one is too rounded, I would prefer a squarer finish.
I've got most of the items I need apart from some L shaped plastic angles to strengthen that I've ordered.
My sticky back felt came today for the flooring so I thought I would give it a go.I am quite pleased with the outcome as I'm not the best when it comes to stickybacked plastic etc (I would've been crap on Blue Peter).
I am also going to do the inside of the canopy the same but in black, once the outside has been painted.
Also my Gyro arrived today, a Spartan DS760 (Thanks Graham).
Cockpit looking good already, it's amazing what you can make out of plasticard.
