Ok the Hughes is "flying" again and I've fitted 500 size tail blades to help the tail but if anything its much worse! I've tried using a throttle curve to keep the revs low and equally tried medium and high curves and all show the same result in that the heli just piros anti-clockwise as if the tail just cant counter the torque even with the larger blades. before it would hold for a few moments then skip about 45 degrees anti clockwise, hold and then skip again. At the moment though it is just piroing wildly.

The giro (3gx) is adjusting the right way in testing and the tail responds to the stick input correctly when not turning. I'm using an align 520 on the tail.

    any further thoughts?
    Cheers

What head speed are you running?

EDit: If it helps, I'm seeing people reporting 2100 as a good speed for a 5 blade head, but even then they are having to change the tail gear ratio to bump up the tail speed, or they are using a 4 blade tail ...

Ok, after one more strip down, changed over the torque tube and fron gears, added the 500 sized tail blades and she flies.....

tail held ok, throttle curve a little higher but she holds just fine.

        Thanks for the input folks

I think she looks nice. Always gets a comment from passers by.
