Another AH-1 cobra Build

Some progress! I managed to finally locate the DEAO 4 bladed tail hub and my friend has started to mod the Fuz to look more like the AH1-Z Viper that is in battlefield 3. Pretty scary seeing a brand new Fuz being attacked with a dremel!

Looks cool so far! If you want to fly it scale to battlefield version you're going to have to crash it an awful lot though!

Yes it is just foam at the moment, it will be being glassed over and then the foam melted out with acetone or something.
I didn't shape the foam I have a very talented friend doing it for me. I am guessing he cut it roughly with a knife and then sanded to shape, it sands pretty easy but it makes a horrible noise that sets some peoples teeth on edge LOL
Hey I will have you know my flying skills in BF3 are legendary! I can keep a heli in the air for the entire match, as long as I join and there are only 4 tickets left

If you dont want the mess of burnt foam every where the best thing to do is cover all the foam with a thick coat of bees wax then it will pull away from the fibreglass pretty easily do you have a pic of the heli your baseing it on?

yes i want to see it too. i'm not familiar with battlefield (the game or the movie? both of which i have not seen nor played)

Yep that's the one, it's basically an AH-1Z Super Cobra or Viper. The BF3 one is not 100% accurate to the real world version and I am no OCD scale nutjob so mine wont be 100% accurate to the real world version or the BF3 version, but it will look enough like it to make me happy with it.

We're using this 3D model as a basis because it has the best all round shots of it TurboSquid - HD Gallery - Bell AH - 1Z Viper Helicopter - Product ID 568693
