  • What FBL unit are people using?

Just wondered what people are flying with as a regards the fbl unit? I fly MSH BRAIN in my 600 AIRWOLF and just wondered if there was another unit I could try more suited to scale? I know I can tame the settings down in the software, but obviously they are more often used in 3D Helis, so is there something people would recommend?

The vortex with the F3C preset is very soft and would suit scale flying quite well.

Any FBL would suit scale as its never really being tested

I'm with Don, any unit can be setup with nice gentle balanced settings.

The main thing would be to just find the one that seems easiest to setup and tweak. The Beast X does all the setup without any devices just using a series of LEDs on the unit but you need the booklet with you for reference, with the VBar you need other devices or a laptop to do the programming, the Spartans can be programmed with either the Datapod or a laptop, etc.

Cheers guys, I guess they are all still the same for 3D and scale really? I've got a brain on it at the moment and I'm going to do a factory reset and try a fresh new set up with things softened down as I've had a tiny bobble on the heli last couple of flights, which maybe a C&G issue or just a setting issue. I've got a beast X plus in my draw I can try also and one of my pals has a K bar we can chuck on it just to see what the difference is.

FWIW even the CGY750 has F3C mode and bank switching now. Albeit a bit behind the curve now, but it's a great unit and you can get them cheap as second hand.

Yeah, I have a friend that uses the 720 on his scale birds and they seem to work very well. Also worth thinking about is the Naza H which is what I'll be using on my Wessex. Normal mode is what you would expect, atti mode, GPS hold and 4 servo swash menu.

                        Cheers, Marty
