Thanks for the comprehensive answer I did remove the mechanics from the fuz last night so I can move the FBL unit to a more assessable place.

Ever seen a fbl heli with heavy skids behaving the same way?
Each helicopter is designed to behave correctly within a certain weight limit, one of the reasons a battery weight is sometimes suggested as well as capacity limits.
Most just assume this is all to do with the actual size limits of the battery but it's got alot to do with keeping the machine within functional limits.
I'm guessing I'm totally wrong about this mechanical science.....?
A different weight hanging from the disc will take a different amount of time to react to the same input hence tuning the cyclic gain to react faster or slower.
If you still don't understand then go back to conkers, but stick a bowling ball on the shoelace, see how the reactions change.

You'll also see that most understand this simple science by only suggesting to lower the cyclic gain for the heavier forces.

The stability will be significantly affected by the moment of inertia about the 3 axes. The distribution of the weight is very important. There's also an argument as to where the axes pass through.

I know enough about control, dynamics, etc, etc to know it isn't particularly simple. So, I'll skip the conkers.

Your initial simple suggestion might not be a bad over-estimate for the roll axis; but doesn't relate well to the pitch or yaw axes, where you have a tail boom to consider.

Hi All well finally managed to get her back together with the FBL unit where I can access it and get to the field for a test flight.
success upped the head speed (sadly the battery on my taco gave up in the cold so don't know the exact RPM) and tuned down pot one.
Wobble all gone.
