Cheers but I tried painting the body shell of my RC buggy once. Let's say I'd rather leave that to the experts lol.

Airwolf update, (the blue wolf ) Hi all just to let you know retracts in and working had to build a mount for the servo and micro switch, micro switch is for the landing lights.
so all ready for inserting the mechanics, just waiting on the new motor to come.

Airwolf update (The Blue wolf) Got the new 900kv motor and ESC using a 16 tooth pinion for ideal head speed tested it today looks good ready to go into the wolf.
should have maiden flight soon still taking picks will post soon

Did you need to update the motor?

Yes i updated to a lower kv to get a more realistic scale head speed and sound from the blades

She is now ready for inserting the helicopter and the final touches.

What function do the ducted fans give?

The ducted fans are mainly for show and the sound but they will give some forward thrust

Hmm this was what I was wondering. If they give forward thrust won't that effect lift so when you turn them on you'll have to compensate on pitch? Wondering if that would make it tricky to fly.

I don't think it will make much difference as the weight of the wolf is quite a lot for the two 30mm ducted fans to push, I will let you know when she is finished and had her first flight. Keep watching I will update when i can, should be about a week or so.

Just a quick update, still trying to get the heli to fly without the tail bounce balanced everything now changing thrust bearing and dampers inthe head to compensate for
lower head speed. if this don't work will go to 18T pinion.
