    • Update to follow

Its been sat around really just getting the occasional fly at DMHC,there are a couple of vids on the vid section from other members.I will try to find them later and link them in

Also PJtyros has borrowed it for reference as he is building a T Rex 600 E Century Bell 222 which looks really smart and should be ready soon

I will fire a pic or two of my Airwolf over the weekend and want more video soon which i will add.

Its been well behaved and Mark and Waynes paintwork remains unblemished

Heres one vid with the top part of the fuzz off as i was experimenting with anti vibration bracing

And myself and Richie doing some scale stuff

          • Hi,

I am currently in the middle of building a TRex600 with Funkey Airwolf Fuse.

I am having problems with the fitting the boom in, it seems to short for the fuse.

I see one of your photos shows the tail end and it look like you have modified quite a bit of it, did you fit in the sponge vibration mount in the end or did you leave it out?

            Many thanks.

            Tony.

            • Hi Tony

I didnt need to modify the tail area of the fuse apart from dremeling out where the tail pitch arm would foul.

I did fit the sponge onto the boom about 3 inches from the back of the boom and then slid the boom in from the front and down thru the boom of the fuselage,as this tapers in the sponge gets tighter as you push it down.

I still have mine sat here looking pretty but it very rarely goes out TBH so if you need any more info etc pls either PM or add to this thread.

Sorry i have not updated this thread much, the heli is really just an expensive ornament now but i would not part with it.

When i do fly it next, which i promise will be soon i will add a video. This is one of the reasons i decided on electric apart from the sound and cleanliness it is quite happy to sit idle for a long time and i know i can just grab it,plug a Lipo in and it will work.

                • Just another update,i have not flown my Airwolf for a year now in fact the above video was the last time it flew, it has been a hangar queen but i was taken by PJtyros`s fbl scale and now i am helping another friend convert his scale Hughes 530 with Raptor 50 mechanics to fbl.

We set it all up today,he is using the RJX silver fbl head and Mikado V Bar and now i have a a spare V bar lying around i have decided to dust the wolf down and convert it also.

The RJX head is really nice and looks good and realistic for scale also.

So i need to pull the mechanics from the fuselage, remove the 401 and head etc and fit all the V bar gubbins and set it up as pod n boom.

Then it will be back into the fuselage to sit on the shelf again probably

Will continue to update the thread with conversion pics etc.

'Speaking of scale... do you still want this Jet Ranger? If not I may see about doing something with it myself maybe go electric or something.

                          • Ok first problem to overcome is the power supply,i am not willing to trust the Align 6A reg that i am currently using it it to power the fbl setup, the reason being is that there are also 3 retract servos to consider so 7 servos in total.

Not wanting to waste a Jive esc on this and not worried about weight i think i will go back to the old fashion way and run either a 4 or 5 cell high capacity NIMH pack and a heavy duty switch.

In this instance simpler and for me more reliable.

Anyone have any thoughts on this,i am sure its more than capable of supplying the juice.

                            • why not just power the retracts with a 4.8v battery pack and leave the rest on the align regulator ?

                              wouldn't that help ?

                              • Hi Mark

Yes thats another option for sure.

One of our clubs fliers has a tester so maybe i can test the draw with it all powered up,also i am going to follow the guidelines from Mikado here and do a pitch pump test with it on the bench.

                                Power supply - VStabi

It has been fine for what flying it has done on the reg so i think i will initially see what Amps are being drawn with it all powered up on the bench and then redo the test with the V Bar fitted,if it looks a cause for concern i will try the NiMh pack as an all heli power source or split is as you suggest.
