Andy gets canos done for sponsored pilots, you cant just go and get it done without asking first!

it looks from the advertising that Andy has registered them as trademarks so reproducing them is against copyright. However the sensible thing would be to ask him if he gives permission then great if not then maybe think of a different design.

Ive always found Andy a straightforward and honest guy. if he objects to it he will have a valid reason and Im sure he wouldnt mind explaining it to you.

Copyright? These arnt huge lorries driving around the motorway for all to see, what a joke. Might be classed as theiving don, wouldent want that sort of behaviour on such a well to do forum would we now.

The optipower canopy does have the ideal colours to aid orientation like my old airskipper one had. That predated optifuel / optipower by many years. If you want visibility at altitude get buckers to do you a copy of my fusion design I promise I wont copy right it

I don't why if you are not sponsored you would want that on a canopy,that's as sad as buying Align or Edge blades T shirts for example to wear,,,,

I doubt it's about money, Opti don't sell branded canopies. More likely about the canopies being used to identify sponsored pilots, and that kind of blurs the lines.

Back on topic, I do remember the old website having a news bulletin saying about decals being available shortly; I'm sure a quick pm to avroboy (Andy Hinton-lever) would sort something out

I would disagree, i think it is about money. The easy solution to this is to purchase some of these Optipower stickers and then have Mr Buckers do you a simple paint scheme on the canopy, lets say for arguments sake a orange/yellow/orange fade effect, stick the Optipower stickers on the side and laquer over the whole lot, Done! And i'm betteing Mr Opti would not have any problems with that due to having a Slice of the pie from it!

I said before I just like the colours and it looks cool IMO.
I am not a sponsored pilot nor do I ever plan on entering competitions. I fly purely because I enjoy it as no other hobby has ever gripped me like this one. As for being sad well that's your opinion, I like what I like pure and simple. Maybe I have no imagination and just copy something I like the look of but theres a lot of people in the world like me and usually we're a manufacturers dream as we give free advertising.

Lol I seriously doubt it, but that's your opinion and your entitled to think what you like In the big scheme of things, do you honestly think Andy/PMA/Opti are bothered about the cost of a few pounds worth of decals when you consider their turn over with fuel and LiPo's?

I hope this is nothing more than one commercial entity (Opti) asking another commercial entity (Buckers) to stop 'profiting' from their trademark.

Most companies tend to ignore genuine 'fan art' as it is neither worth chasing people down nor worth annoying your fans, but you can't have a trademark then ignore commercial exploitation of that mark.

If a person or company asks or would prefer that other not use there name on an item such as a canopy, why cant people just accept that and respect there wishes, without going into one, put something else on your canopy and move on.......

I'm not going in to one ? Just want to know why, I had the canopy done months ago with no thought of legal implications. Did you research your latest Bond 007 inspired cano ? Im sure you didn't even think of it. I'm not looking for grief I just wanted my Heli to look nice. James Bond is fine with my canopy and if he was not, I would not ask why or expect an explanation, I would have respected Mr Bonds wishes and done something else simples...
