  • Nitro Engine Issue

Ive got a small .15 nitro engine im having issues tuning.

The engine was running fine a week ago, but came to start it today and it still ticks over nicely, however when i get to about 1/3 to 1/2 stick it starts spluttering and cuts out..

i have tried the following :
    • resetting both needles
    • changing the fuel lines
    • new glow plug
    • cleaning the carb
    • checked the engine bolts (also had a look at the piston and liner etc)
    • fresh fuel

    Still no joy

    Any ideas ?

Air leak between the carb and main block? have you replaced the "o" ring?

it seemed to be a snug fit and tightened up well.

may have to remove again and have another look.

If the seal is ok try running a richer setting or leaner and see how it performs.

Check your clunk itself. Ive had one rust up, which reduced flow. Not enough to stop it starting, but wouldnt hold WOT.

Might be a long shot but I've seen this before at the club. Turned out to be the rear bearing. Swapped it for a new one. Cured the problem right away.

If it's ok at idle.... and dies on throttle up would be mid / high needle to rich. Try leaning 2 clicks at a time. Do you get a lot of smoke and any unburnt fuel from the exhaust...sorry don't know how much experience you have with engines, not trying to teach you to suck eggs but that is where I would start.

-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

                  And a DX8 too
