    here we go again lol

As im powering up get to mid stick and the power just dies then completly goes ie engine stops.
OS60 with the recomended settings 1.5 turns out.
I have noticed bubbling around where the muffler joins the engine, and cant see a gasket, unless the previous owner glued it

Is there much smoke when spooling up ??. Have you tried pinching the fuel line when the motor it idling ??, howlong does it take for the motor to react ??.
    Cheers,

I used this stuff in place of a muffler gasket after someone recommended it on here:

Hylomar UNIVERSAL BLUE non-setting gasket sealer 40ml on eBay (end time 08-Jun-10 22:15:11 BST)

It's working nicely on my OS91

It sounds like it could be to lean or to rich, but it is a new engine and it could be the fact it is just tight.
I pursume the new servo fixed the other issue?

..when i first read that i read it as 'the fact it is just right'.. figured that covered the options

I had a plug once that would allow the engine to idle, and spool up to just below take-off speed, and then the engine would quit. Replaced the plug and everything was fine.

                    Adrian,

sorry I can't offer any really useful advice on the power / gasket but I'm hoping you might be able to help me (cheeky I know...).

I have a set of the Graupner Uni-Expert mech's here to go in a Bell 230 Fuse and I'm having a bit of bother mounting the engine with the right mesh on the first gear / clutch bell. Could you perhaps take a wee photo of your engine / mounting for me so I can get an idea of how far I need to shim it out before I start mounting it / taking it off / mounting it again...

                    Thanks in advance.

to adjust the gear mesh use vario 59/20 engine shims or thin washers/shims between the engine and the mount

and before you ask john white vario uk

on the bo with the cutting out
                      1st new plug
2nd adjust the mixture, forget the std os settings you may need to go very rich on the needles to get the heli to work

Ok ive tryed the new plug..nothing same happens.
When you say very rich how very, ive got the standard 1.5 turns out then went to 2 turns out, shall i just keep richening it till i get some sort of response then.
Would you know a place that sells gasketts for this os61 rx engine as its not that a standard one,or is it.

                        Andy,
My camera has decided to pack up for some reason,so ive got to get a new one sorry mate.

Thanks, I'd had a look at those but Vario's creative pricing methods makes £8.09 for 6 bits of wafer thin metal a little tough to swallow, although I think I'd better just get it over and done with...

Adrian, no worries mate - these things happen

                            on the gasket
if both faces are good and square clean them and bolt them up dry
if they look anyway distorted either epoxy or silicone sealer

the mixture i had a uni-mechanics turning 850 blades with an os 60 at 3+ turns out on the high end mixture

the other thing to check is that the exhaust pressure feed is working ok
as i had one engine that would alway flood even with the needles turned realy weak and it turned out to be the exhaust was faulty (too much pressure)
so it could happen the other way
