Ya see i dont have that pitch jump and just think its one more thing to think about as if i havent got enough already when flying. I like the idea but dont like the pitch jump. Unfortunately theres nothing you can do about it if you setup like that anyways. If i was to calm things down then it would be anything below half stick so i know when ever im above half i dont get a jump. The first half in normal is used for spool up anyways. This is where its each to their own, what works for one person might not for another. David you should experiment and find which way feels more natural to you. Regardless of which way others do it you should tailor things to your style of flying and needs.

    Cheers

Just set up another model with -8, 0, 10 and everything level at centre stick.

Throttle 0,25,50,75,100 in normal and a little more gas at P1,2,3 to keep headspeed up .

Assuming it isn't completely freezing tomorrow will give it a go. Can always go back to my old model number.

      Cheers

I think it is down to the individual, my mate can't understand why I have my pitch curve the same in both modes. I feel like if I change it now it would defeat the object, as now the heli is 'as it's meant to be' to me. Full curves in both directions and only the idle up curve to finish untaming. Although that is set to 100-95-90-95-100 in Idle up.

          Let go luke.!!

5 in the middle is so old school, but each to thier own if ya like it.

any heli u buy now is designed around 0 in the middle. and its not 3/4 stick anyway its just above half ( but who cares) .

damn it .. was it an inch for 30mph oooh no mister i ain't driving that civic cos its 3/4 inch i may crash.

spend 40 notes on a governor and forget the throttle too.

David ... its like each and everyone has said .. you fly it so you set it how you like it at the end of the day ... You can ask 100 diff pilots and get 100 diff answers .. It's like what throttle curves people use .. you can give a base point for that model but then it comes down to blades and pitch range and how you handle the collective .. so its horse for courses .. All you can do is try it and see how you like it .. Nothing wrong with trying something new .. I know when I went from mid stick hovering and reset everything for the 3/4 or just above mid stick hover my flying progressed faster ...

all mine are set with 0degree at centre stick, just use normal mode to spool up then im straight in to idle with bout 10degrees either way, and normal is -3 up to + 10, not that i use it, my thottle hold is the same as my idle up

All flight modes are set at zero degrees at the mid stick positin on my heli's.
Mirrored pitch top and bottom being what I feel I like on that particular model. Usually around 12 to 13 degrees these days.

My governor headspeeds depend on the model too, but the Trex600 runs at about 2150, the Trex700 ran at about 2000, my Aurora is about 2000 also, the Vision 50 is ungoverned at the moment so is all over the place on a fairly basic V curve

My advise to you David is to setup with zero at midstick and set all flight modes the same - you have no suprises if you switch flight modes in the air then - that includes Hold!

                  Yes Rob,

Kept pitch at the same values in all modes. Just need to fiddle with throttle until I get a consistent headspeed whatever the loading.

Great fiddling ain't it?? Too bloody cold to actually fly

I was out there today... holy moly it was freezing cold!
Managed a few flights, but the nitro flights were done in half tank chunks as the thumbs simply couldn't manage a full tank at once!

                    LOL

OK, got 3 helis on 10, 0, 10 pitch curves with throttle curves to suit.

Feels slightly different with hover at 3/4 stick, but no major issues.

Needs some fiddling, but flew for a couple of hours this morning and enjoyed myself.

                          Interesting this thread.

I flew yesterday afternoon and I run -9 to +9 in all modes on the Rappy.

Only have one idle up of 100, 52, 42, 52, 100 and she flies really well.

However, I did have issues yesterday.

Because it was so cold I tried flying with no gloves and nearly buried it after less than one minute.

Tried flying with gloves on and she bounced around all over the place as I could not feel my collective stick and she flew horribly.

Then flew with one glove on my right hand for cyclic and no glove on the collective and she flew okay.

However, the issues occurred with my hovering as I could not hold a steady hover and my collective management was totally shocking. (Managed to bog the head inverted from a forward flip as I was so cold.)

Not sure what I'm trying to say except I now fly with a 3/4 stick (since the summer) with an idle up 'V' curve and in the summer I can fly round the sensitive hover point. In the winter I cannot and the Rappy dances a bit.

Either way set the Throttle and Pitch up for what's right for you.

                          Cheers

                          Mark

PS. Still enjoyed the afternoons flying as it's the first since I binned her.
