So they finally wore you down with their lies?

Just so you're not too disappointed I'll give you the facts...

It's not the best Heli in the world.
It's not the beat trainer in the world.
It's not the best at anything.
The batteries only last 120 seconds on 100%.
It doesn't do stationary flips, rolls, autos, so is not worth a light for 3D practice!
The tail is completely uncontrollable without the mod.
The tail is pretty uncontrollable with the mod.
It shakes itself to pieces in FFF unless you put the canopy grommets on the swash links.
It shakes violently in FFF after you've used canopy grommets to take the slack out of the useless swash links.

In short you will be bored within 20 mins, you will sell it within 2 weeks, and you will lose between £40 - £60 quid depending on how honest you are!

But please don't be too disappointed cause I tried and tried to warn you!

Reading this just made me go out and fly mine. :)

I still love it and the tail on mine holds fine, yeah you can blow it out, but only if you push it too hard. An understanding of collective management always helps ;)

BTW.... I'm no-ones fool and if it was a pile of poo I wouldn't write this....:D

The old collective management ploy?

If it requires such a deft touch what makes it so good for novices to learn 3D?

Oh dear, yet another myth busted!!! :)

Guess it's a bit marmite...

Yes it has problems, it's under powered, you sometimes need to mod some bits to get it to fly better, the stock tail is a bitch and will cause you to crash a lot, BUT It was an absolute gateway for me... it opened the door to real heli flying! I was stuck in a massive rut and had pretty much got bored of extreme tail in hovering and given up hope of ever progressing so didn't fly much any more.

I then got the mCP X and everything I learnt to do on it transferred directly to my bigger heli's except it was even easier when I actually had the confidence to try it on them. It taught me fast forward flight, fast backward flight (with the occasional tail blow out recovery lol), inverted orientations (and now trying to learn inverted forwards/backwards circuits) and more to the point it was real life and not a sim so the confidence it gave was much higher and I actually had the balls to try it out on the bigger ones. Not only that but I've spent very little on parts because I fly over grass and despite crashing every other battery whilst trying out new stuff I hardly broke a thing.

Now I can do some pretty good sport flying, even some rainbows and tick tocks (though messy) - all this stuff I never would have dreamed of ever progressing to before getting the mCP X. To keep pace with my progress and try to make it a more advanced trainer I then modded it more extremely with brushless mods etc and you know what? it worked... I now have an mCP X capable of more advanced manoeuvres that I can try out on it.

So, welcome to the club Rachel - you certainly don't need it as a trainer like I did but perhaps you'll have a blast with it.
Ridding the world of Helis, one crash at a time....

I WILL give my verdict on the mcpx when I have had it a while, and don't fear if its pants I will say so. whoops there goes my Horizon sponsorship.
