  • aghhhh my watch is faulty again :(

i bought a automatic hamilton belowzero watch back in june the day after i bought it it had to be sent back to hamilton as a screw was missing out of the back of it (didnt notice it missing in the shop ) but with it been brand new you wouldn't expect it to be like that and would of thought it would be perfect but the shop was very help full and got it sent off for repairing and a good looking over they wasn't able to replace it with a different one as it was the last one

noticed today that the date function has started sticking half way and you need to trun the crown more to get it to go the other half and turned it over to clean it to find out another screw has fallen out :( i carnt see how they keep coming out tho as its hardly warn and just kept in the box so its safe :s but for a watch that sells for £1200 it think its abit rubbish the watch feels really nice and looks nice but just abit disappointed i am going to have to send it off twice within 6 month :\

shame as its a really nice watch and it does feel very nice just my luck to get a dodgy one haha i may try and see if i can get it replaced with a brand new one this time but with it been 6 month old i doubt it :\ hah

anyone els have a nice watch with a good name behind it thats been abit rubbish ?

Nice collection. Still a few £££'s worth.

So what is the one on the bottom row, 4th from the left?

Anyway, I'd take it back and would want it fully repaired, serviced if need be and polished or a new one ;)

I have a tag worth £3,500 ...however just had to pay out £260 as the automatic bit that swings around has "worn out" after 4 years of use.
I dont even use it during the day most of the time. So not that its cracked up to be!!

Id never spend that again on a watch..:cower:

Yet another example of why we need more watch makers.

Mechanical watches are getting ever more popular, but there's almost nobody in the country to maintain them. So, you've spent £3000 on a breitling you've been wanting for ages, a couple years later something comes loose or it's not keeping time and you have to send it to switzerland for 6 months. It's virging on the ridiculous. Its one thing if the watch needs overhauling, but for a minor repair it's crazy.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

aghhhh my watch is faulty again :(

Automatic watches need to be worn all the time or they go wrong.

I wear my Rolex everyday for work on the building site and it's great. It worked perfect for 12 years before it started losing time and 3 years after a rebuild it's perfect.

Golf is a big no no with these watches as the impact of the club hitting the ball causes the jewel bearing to collapse.

Just like every other specialist craft really. Gets rarer and rarer. I have a 111 year old pocket watch that I'd like to be serviced/overhauled but I wouldn't have a clue where to go, it has massive sentimental value to me so I'd want someone who really knows what they are doing.

Oh another note I got my first 'proper' watch this Xmas. Nothing amazing but I love it :) Its automatic too. Love Skeleton watches.
