• Dipping my toe in

Hey all, dipping my toe into the plank world of the hobby, still got my heli before anybody says anything,

I went to glides in Newark to see what they had, went in with an open mind, but wanted a wot4 really... well that didn't happen...

I have flown planes a couple of times, nothing special, a high wing trainer and my micro sukhoi, of which I told the model shop.

So what did I come out with, well, he didn't have any wot4's in stock and hadn't had for a few months, so having a chat with the owners, and remembering a couple of people on here, balders and a few others in past threads of mine suggesting it I ended up with a st models mx2 lol :D I built it last night but will have to dumb it down on the rates and expo as the control surfaces are s decent size, not the biggest I have seen, but the biggest I have flown (not hard :D)

So here it is, just for you muscleflex...pictures :D:D

I have heard the Undercarriage is a little weak on this model, the shop also told me that :D the splats are very close to the ground!!!

as Ma88ut says kev, Do it before you fly it or it will end in tears. I strengthened mine and fitted two wire braces from the nose, removed the spats and fitted slightly larger wheels. it now lands without issue:) Also if you use dual rates set the elevator at 60%/100%.
60% will give you a nice docile flyer
as you land. glide in with no power and for the last few feet click it to 100% and you can "float" it down into wind and land with almost no forward ground speed.(practice high up a few times though as it does tend to drop a wing when it stalls)

if your stickers are rippled or bubbled borrow the wifes iron and a dish cloth, they will smooth out nicely;)

I was going to start this with "great little plane " but its not that little is it!:ack2:

Easiest fix I know is to chuck it off inverted.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

LoL :) and land it? :):) Chuck it the right way up is far easier:)

Hey Ron, you got a pic on your landing gear? Also what do you mean about iron and cloth, put cloth on the plane then iron over the top?

I'll post you a picture up shortly Kev.

yes smooth them on with the iron through the cloth.

if its a new kit you should have an updated esc by now the original ones were prone to fires but have been upgraded:)
