Well, having made a few "derogative" remarks about iPhones, my new employers gave me an iPhone 4 yesterday.

I have to say that, whilst I've only had it for a little over 24 hours, I'm loving it thus far! Chatted with my daughter via Face Time (?) last night and all at no cost!

So are there any good free apps I can get? I'm looking for totally free stuff (i.e. no in-app purchase necessary or possible).

Thus far I have:[LIST][*]Google[*]RightMove[*]AroundMe[*]RedLaser[/LIST]I wouldn't mind a few games too.

You think the iphone is good wait until you try an andriod based phone, not sure if the apps are the same but I have google sky map (show you stars), tapatalk (forum reader), paypal, ebay, facebook, amgrybirds, google navigation, guitar tuning app, youtube player, talking tom (for kids). Only had it a few weeks but I love it, blackberry bold is going to mazuma now.

I don't have an iphone, but I'm pretty sure there is a heli rotor tacho app available? No doubt some one will chip in to confirm or deny!

Btw - hows life up in the north?? Did you manage to get through the border without your passport? - lol

angry birds is a must to have but not free works out about 0.59p
just search it your app folder and just put in free apps and search job done
ive got quite a few apps on mine martin but not sure what was free

Its easier for me to list a few apps and you choose :).

pUniverse - great for spoting star constellations
Skype - making those free skype to skype calls (also now includes face time)
Pano - great app for making panographics shots, it works very well actually and easy to use.
helitach - for testing your heli headspeed, nitro or eleccy
Osmos - a visualy stunning game and very addictive
Football sc - Keeping up to date with Football scores
Soundhoud - I prefer this over other similar apps because it has more features. This is used for when you hear a song on the radio and can't think of the title.
Met office - for weather. It can be slow when loading but has some good features
Ents24 - checking for live gigs etc
Paypal - used this a few times, pretty self explanatory
DoodleJump - you will [I]not[/I] be able to put this game down
Angrybirds - same as above
Last.fm - this is a great tool for PC use as well. it will watch what you listen to and reccomend other similar bands/Artist. This also has the ability to play certain music tags like Downtempo, blues etc.
Sickipedia - has some good jokes, some offending others clever
Flixster - checking for movies
Goskywatch - another good Astronomy app
Cut the rope - found this game a little predictive and boring but ok
Paper Toss - another addictive game
