Thanks for all the replies.

I was very tempted to buy the Thundercat after seeing the link Grant posted, quite impressive little aeroplane; but was put off by the customer reviews of the supplier.

Out of the others I'm liking the Phase 3 Squall the most.
Just going through the laborious task of cross referencing places to buy and reviews and the same for batteries.
Thats the same/similar to the Art-tech Tiger, you can get that in the UK:)

Cheers for the heads up Grant but I went for the 3C Squall in the end so I can use my heli batteries in it.
Hi all,

I'm after a cheap (around £100 +-50) ARTF/RTF/BNF EDF jet.

Ideally it should only require a 2.4ghz transmitter and maybe a battery for the model.

Looked around and the only ones I could find were £200+
There seems to be quite a lot around that already include the transmitter, but as I already have a dx6i it seems silly to buy another.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers,
Danny
Dunno if its been mentioned before but i personally would go with a FunJet, I had one and found it easy to fly and maintain and it was stupidly quick, I also ran it off the same batts as my heli for ease of use, I gaurantee/guarantee??? that you will love it.
Nik.

Before you ask:

About 2 miles
Over £500
Very difficult
Over 80mph
NO, you can't have a go

Don't forget the 'Search' and 'Thanks' buttons.

RIP Anthony 'Tinny' Lombardi (25195517)

Thanks Sqwidge, already bought the Squall and can't afford another a/c at the moment.
If I trash the Squall might replace it with the funjet.:)

That's cool Twisted!

Only got the 3s Squall BladeStriker, as this is my first EDF and I can use my blade 400 batteries if I go 3s.

Got a really old fibre glass small pylon racer type plank a bit like this one:

But it used to run on nicads and was very quick on those but got badly damaged during a heavy landing. I want to repair it and make that thing my fast plank as it was very rapid and should fly much nicer with a lipo i.e. it won't drop out of the sky when the battery cuts out!

Not yet, got half way through building it on Friday night but never finished it.
Had to stop as I was going flying in a CAP10B (pic attached) on Saturday and needed the sleep. Then went heli flying with Bolders on Sunday.

The model is at my father’s house and I’m not going to be there for at least a fortnight so progress is a bit slow lol.

Will update the thread once it’s built and flying.

PS. Turns out you can do circuits inverted with my instructor in the cap!

+1 for the Funjet, supprised more people not mentioning it.

Theres a shortage of kits at the moment due to number of people twigging it does 100+ out of the box and can do 150+

Be hard pushed for something as fun, simple, and cheap to maintain.
