Looked at the Lander Models the other day at Weston Park. In the end i got a Parkzone Habu..

Flies like a dream and pretty fast when you push it. Quite easy to fly, and easy to repair!!

Might be worth a look at

just finished knocking up a Parkzone F27
cheers Kol for the flaps and top ESC and Lipo covers!!
- £15 to £18 for a replacement airframe - cheap enough to replace if I hit the deck. Maiden soon :D should be interesting to fly with the 3900kv nutter motor and makes a break inbetween heli flying:

Cost wise Strykers are great. Smashed my last one and I've still not rebuilt. I'm just hoping when I do the motor I had in it really doesn't have a bent shaft. It takes a fair few quid to get them over 120mph but it can done ;) Checkout RCGroups.com: The ABCs of Radio Control - Aircraft, Boats, and Cars! and do a search for the obvious :D

Hey Gav that looks ace that Stryker,I wouldn't mind getting one of these.Had you ever flown any other type of plane before this? Just wandering as I have never flown a plank but find it really easy on the simulator ;) Would you mind if I ask what the spec is and what it's stood you at cost wise?

Cheers Grant.:cheers2:

They seemed to be ok. Didnt have a detailed look if i am honest as i had already decided on getting the Habu. I certainly wouldnt be against buying one in the future from what I saw.

Hi Grant,

I spose £80.00 to get a Stryker going with electrics from HK or ebay. That's without Receiver or lipo.

I have a Turnigy 3900Kv motor (£18) and 40A ESC (£12) - It's the first Plank I've built (not difficult being a pre formed foam slab) and really only propperly flown one time before for real. Flown loads on the sim, like yourself and this is just as easy to fly as the sim so you wont have a prob mate.

Just maided it this evening and it's RAPID! Vertical climbs amazing! For the price of a decent Heli gyro you can build one of these - it's great value for the Fun Factor! Glides too without power, so easy to land.

Patrick,

The Habu does look good but it'sthe 4 cell lipos it needs to run that put me off :( The Stryker however I can use my 3 cell lipos I have already ;) That F-35 does look good but in the event of a crash how much is the airframe going to cost?? The Stryker on the other hand is only around £18 absolute bargain! so You can just take all the electronics out and simply swap them over! :) See here:

It comes as BNF (bind & Fly) or PNP (plug & Play)

*Bind & fly all you need is a Dsm2 compatible transmitter: E.g DX6i/DX7 etc...
*Plug & Play all you need is Transmitter/Receiver and battery.

See here for more info:

I have found it as a RTF version but the radio is very basic,It's a Spektrum DX5e and the whole package is very pricey IMO:

Finally I have an update!

I had intended to buy the ‘normal’ Squall as opposed to the HP version, but the shop sent me the HP version by mistake and I only realised once I’d glued half of it.
The kit was very easy to build, my only big gripe with the model is the very soft foam them have used; had to put cello tape on the leading edges to prevent transport damage.

Anyway, flew it for the first time last weekend (on 3s batteries) and was quite impressed at how fast it was even on 3s batteries.
The roll rate on it is just ludicrous and it’s a bit of a handful generally, but very rewarding to fly.

Flew it again this weekend but my father had a go and 5 seconds later it was on the ground in pieces.
Will be fixed soon hopefully then I’ll post some pics.
< Insert witty comment here >
