  • Inverted In Normal Mode?........Nooooooooo!

Well, I don't normally shout about it when I have an 'incident' (luckily it's been a while) but I thought this would make you gits smile.

So there I am, arrived at the field, perfect evening conditions, clear blue sky, sun behind me, wind dropped right off and really feeling good about getting a few flights in before dusk. Power up my 700e DFC in quick time, walk to the flight line, up into a hover (now feeling really happy) flip the heli over backwards towards me so I can fly off inverted tail first and get straight into it and then............bollocks no power and no pitch and i'm 10 ft off the ground inverted etc, NOT IN IDLE UP THOUGH, TW*T!!
Tried to flip out of it but nothing, it went in 90* tail first, I think you all know the rest..........should have tried landing on it's head if id have thought of it!!

I have now officially won the 'Arrival At The Flying Club And Crashing Within 5 Minutes' Award.

Routines go out of the window if you forget to do part of that routine!

I've done it and fortunately saved it. Now ID1 after run up on the ground. Only exception running in a new engine but generally remains right way up.

You must of been drunk on happiness with the conditions. Sober up next time go in freezing weather and high winds.

I don't think so, usually land in hold :-)

Got some loaner blades if you need some?

Hahah! It's a serious question though, I'm not sure why people use normal-mode with a CP heli. Bewildering hobby this. Big learning curve...
