I realise there is a good JR following on here and I know that a lot of JR fans stay loyal to JR - my intention was certainly not to make JR fans feel left out. I kept it to Spektrum and Futaba for two reasons:
1) Because to add in another manufacturer into the poll would have caused the number of options to explode even further (I figured 8 options were enough).
2) Because there seems to be more debate around Spektrum vs Futaba than JR vs ??? and so I figured that some statistics would be helpful in understanding what the trend really is between the two manufacturers.
By making this decision, I have certainly not intended to relegate JR to the sidelines, although I do appreciate that by leaving out a major respected manufacturer such as JR I have reduced the value of the poll from a general brand loyalty point of view.
but
i have bought a secondhand dx8 to use on the bnf models as the futaba won't control them
so idon't have an option to tick

Technically you are right, but I kind of tried to cover this one in the description when I wrote:
"This poll should not take into account brand loyalty due to the Blade/Spektrum relationship - it should only take into account instances where you're free to choose either a Spektrum or Futaba set up."
But realise that I wasn't that clear. Basically, what I was trying to say is that the poll should ignore owning a Spektrum TX purely because of the Blade BNF helicopters. In other words, if you own a Spektrum TX purely because of the BNF helicopters, then it doesn't count, because you only own it because you don't have a choice. Thus the pole should only apply for helicopters where you have a choice in which brand you use. Therefore the option that is the right one for you is:
"Only ever had Futaba and plan to stick with them"
Had to vote for "Only ever had Futaba, but wish I had a Spektrum"
Now before anyone phones for the blokes with big nets to cart me off to a padded cell, I only voted for that option since it's the closest option to the correct one for me, I will fly every serious model I own on Futaba, and that will never change, but I want a spektrum IN ADDITION just so I can fly BnF models.
Now, if BnF models that were futaba friendly come out ever (come on it can't be that hard) then I wouldn't touch Spekpooh with a 27MHz antenna.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
