        RADD'S SCHOOL OF ROTARY FLIGHT?
not even one crash? well done!

while that may work for some most will not follow it and become impatient just like myself, its a quite steep learning curve and not just the hovering lol setup too for when u have the inevitable crash.

with a mcpx the chances are he would have picked it up and started trying again, also having the added benefit of hovering from the sofa

training gear on a heli feels damn horrible and probably causes quite a few to crash.

I'd recommend meeting up with some guys who can fly & give the 450 the once over, before you try it again.
there must be some guys on here from the Blackpool area..

If I were you, I'd take the time to watch some videos on YouTube, if you have an understanding of the workings of the heli then I think it can help with some of the principles of flying them. It also helps in the re-building after a crash and basic maintenance and setting up.

Try looking at some of the 'Freddy Can Fly' videos, he has loads of good advice and explains things very clearly without being annoying!!

When you change the boom it will be obvious, if its a belt you can see it where it goes round the pulleys at the front and back. If its a torque tube you will just see gears meshing at the front and back these are umbrella shaped and are called umbrella gears.

I have seen your other thread asking for local help, this problem really is setting alarm bells ringing, if it jammed once it will jam again, get it checked before you try to fly it again.
