        Re: moto rstops

Just out of interest how long into the flight was this happening . Just wondering if your lipo is getting a bit low & the lvc (low voltage cutout) is kicking in on the speed controller Lou .

Good call Rob. I thought that had been discussed already, but just reread the thread and it hasn't! Could it be that simple? Let's hope so!

Lou - Do you check your LIPO capacity after flying ?

I thought of that too. But it did it once at the start of a flight. but most of the time it is towards the end of a flight. The rotor head started slowing down on another flight but it didnt drop. I am using 2 different batteries, Both are align branded batteris 1 is the one that came with the kit and the other is a spare I bought at the same time wich is a 40c.
I will make a note of wich one I use and see if it happens again. I also have been using the batteries that came with the kit. Now with new ones it is upto 6.1v
they are only AA batteries. should I upgrade these to rechargables?

Rechargable AA's are more economical, but make no functional difference. if anything, then run at slightly lower voltage.

Do you have a LIPO checker? It might be a bad cell ... Are you using the supplied charger?

yes I am using the the charger that came with the kit. The lipo checker I got is just a low warning buzzer, it is still strapped to my blaze though. The charger has three LEDs for one for each cell. I have not fully drained each battery and I leave them for an hour at least before recharging.

                      Quick update.
Flew for 9 minutes with the second battery also no problems.
I am starting to thing it is tx with low power.

Get one of these, and check your LIPOs with it *before* you fly. With my Blade 450's, I found that the supplied balancing charger (very similar to the Align one) would sometimes say it was finished, but left one cell *very* low - completely unbalanced. Ultimately, a proper charger (icharger 106b) fixed it, but I still check my LIPOs with the SmartGuard everytime before I fly.

There is a lot that has to be done a certain way. I agree with Tom about the idle up comment from the model shop. Ignorant and unhelpful. You probably need someone with you to check everything that you are doing. Helis only work if you do everything right and sometimes not even then.
