I just got back from a gradually increasing wind at the flying field.
It started off as the sort of wind I always fly in and only a few hardy plankers dare to fly in.
Then it got gradually windier.
On the third flight I had the heli tilted at 40 degrees to hold station. I stopped after that tank and it was a bit daft becuase it was pretty difficult to get the heli in through the car door safely on my own and everything was blowing about inside the car when I opened the door.
It seems no drama to land and takeoff a .50 in this kind of wind - but you have to take care with the manoevres and anything untried is off the agenda (I so wanted to prieouette hover inverted!).
I'm impressed with the 560/9254 - tail hold no issue backwards and sideways into the wind - pirouettes no sign of whipping either.
Just how much wind do you folks fly in?
