Hi all,
Over christmas I have been building up a new Trex 700 FBL 3GX, everything appears to be set up spot on, all pitches perfect swash level etc etc it is as near to recommended settings as I have ever got any heli build, but it is still my first flybarless heli.
So today I decide today is the day to get some hovering in and run the engine in a little (OS 105), now this is not my first big heli and I am used to flying a Henseleit 3DNT bit old school but still a nice heli, so I fire her up and she settles straight into a nice idle, slowly I raise the collective and up come the revs and head spools up nicely. Now this is when it all gets a bit sketchy, once in the air I put her into a hover at about six feet and immediately found the heli a proper handfull ie; any aileron/elevator movements had her shooting in all directions
. Quickly got her down again and decided to re-check all my mechanical and 3GX settings, all OK.
So here is the question I guess, is the flybarless system so much more direct that I need to re-learn my flying from flybarred? and is the Henseleit so different that I was unrealistic in thinking I could just stick the Trex into the air and get on with it? Has any body here also changed from FB to FBL and found similar?
I am certainly no pro but can usually fly without heart stopping hovers
.
Any thought's views or opinion's appreciated,
Cheers Ian.
