    I use something like them.

Excellent, but light them before you leave home as they take a while to heat up. Also, leave the charcoal to glow a while before shutting the tin or it goes out.

You can light one end of the charcoal, or both. Get very hot if you light both ends!

I love mine. Tried the reusable ones. Too much faff boiling them and they don't last long.

When you fly is the main time your hands freeze
But with the bag on it takes the chill off

Yeah I'm tempted to get a tx mitt soon.

Gonna head over to Go Outdoors after work, they usually have some bargains. Gonna grab a couple of these:

Gelert Pocket Hand Warmer | GO Outdoors

        And
Dunlop Blizzard Men's Winter Boot | GO Outdoors

Anyone got any recommendations on a good waterproof winter coat? Would like to keep it at £50 or under.

How hot are the zippo ones supposed to get anyway? I think I've got mine running with a blowtorch. It doesn't feel very hot to the touch though but is actually 40c. My breath is warmer really Should they got hotter than this? Anyone mind measuring theirs?

I use fleece gloves and cut a small hole for my thumbs to stick out off. The tips of the thumb still gets cold but it’s better then having to warm up your whole hand.

I just need something to warm up my thumb tips up in between flights now?

Haven't actually measured mine, but if i was to take it out of the pouch i wouldn't be able to hold it for long before i got burnt.
I use standard Swan lighter fluid, don't no if that makes a difference or not. I think it's all down to how you keep it in the pouch.
I light my hand warmer but keep it sticking out of the pouch a little bit to start with, then after a while push it right in but leaving pouch open so it can breath.

I use 2 x Whitby warmers from go outdoors. Same as the Zippo ones I think.

12 hours of heat from a fill. Toastie!

well I hate to say it but I was really considering a nitro - the exhaust is the best handwarmer after a flight, not directly after but then its amazing and its ready when you get into the pits ...

2S or 3S lipo and your laughing, the raydiowarm has pockets for lipos and such like, depending on your transmitter the control box can be neatly fitted inside the forward part of the glove. My friend has a DSX9 and his is all neat and internal, my DSX11 didn't fit with it all internal, so my control box is mounted external. They are originally tyre warmers but are easily fitted in mitts and a £2 lipo alarm takes care of over discharge.
Some people put them in series (the pads) so that the current draw is lower around 2.5 amps but the temperature is warm but not hot.
I'm putting mine back to parallel this weekend, because it wasn't warm enough for me.

I'm using the same systems for my lipo warmer box, good value IMO
