  • what blades do use and why

as the title say what blades do you use and why

I'm learning to fly and getting on better now i was using cheap 3 dollar 325mm blades from ebay you no the 3 week delivery type
but Ive not crashed in ages and fell confident in full sports flying with in reason anyway so i upgraded my blades to stiffer carbon blades now these are nameless 325mm carbon blades

and I'm impressed they make the Helli more responsive and strangle lighter in flight so i wanted your thoughts on the blades you use and why you use them

p.s warnings to stay away from blades will be gratefully excepted as well

I use Spin blades on the big birds because they're cheap (relatively) and they work... I normally use Align blades on my 450s but just recently, I bought a few sets of 325mm carbon blades from HK, just to see what they were like, and to be honest, they balance and track just fine. I'm going to buy a few more sets and see if it was just a fluke or if they actually are OK.

Align 3G and Edge but prefer Align out of the two.The edges are from when I got my Logo 600,it came with them otherwise wouldn't buy them.

I prefer edge they just fly lovely and fart as loud as my old nan lol, my new favorites on the 450 are revolution fbl 325s the are light and fast and at £21 not as painful when they go in. I have some Sab 690 fbl on the rave and they are ok but I will get more 690 edge next time

Align as you can buy the seconds for the 450 and they are great in my experience so far.

I fly on spins aswell as gixer has said they are in the middle with pricing and i like the way they fly but align blades always worked well for me to
These are on a 50 size

For me it's rail and edge preferably edge se fbl both blades track really well stop hard and fast and have just the right balance of agility and stability.... They also auto pretty well too these are on 90 size currently but also apply to 600 class I can't comment on othersizes as i haven't enough experience of them to make a proper judgement

On my 450x. I'm using revolution blades but if I'm honest the difference is harder to tell on a 450 for me

I've got a mix of Edge, SAB, Radix, Align and Torsion, I never notice much difference in any of them if i'm being honest, but I'm no stick banger.

My SAB ones look nice though LOL

I tried some Align carbons on my 450 & detroyed them on spool up, very very week imo. I then tried BBT Maniac 321's & loved them & they auto'd good too. On my Logo i used to use SAB 550's which i liked but when they broke i got some BBT Maniac 553's & love them. They make good blade noise & auto very well just like the 321's. I broke the 321's eventually & the heli's now in the wolf with some cheap HK jobbys which IMO are fantastic for the money, can't remember if they are carbon of glass fibre
Yes the big sigpic is coming back

aparkin, not sure what your heli is Flybarless or not?

I have tried a lot of different 450 blades recently & I like the Edge FBL blades best as well.
Not a fan of the spin blades myself.

One thing worth mentioning is that Spins & Rails blades are true 325mm blades, while most others are only around 315mm long.
If you are running on a helis with a low DFC type head you can have issue with the longer blades hitting the tail.

I quite like Radix Std blades and Torsion Solid blades too.

                        Tim.

Edge are one of my favorite but the SAB's are working ace on my Goblins I must admit.

Align, balance perfectly out of the box. Ripmax on the 450, well balanced and cheap(ish) They all break when they plough the soil though !
                              Trex 450 SEV2.
Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !

                              Several planks, gathering dust.

Brains and thumbs work okay, but not at the same time.
