  • SECOND HAND SECTION Plz Read

Can people that are selling items please use the forsale/Sold tab when selling. (in original Post )

Due to the high volume of kit being sold lately, noticed tonite

    1) item been listed
    2) buyer purchased
3)seller added (sold Pending Payement )
    4)seller added (item now sold)

Meanwhile everyone else item has been getting pushed further(Bumped) down the forsale section dont get me wrong (I have been guilty of this aswell)its just gives buyer a chance to look and seller a chance to sell rather than wait 2 days

    Thanks All

Hopefully im in the right section (Jamin 00 )

I still cannot change the prefix of my thread once sold. No idea why. ?

It's one of the reasons I started the pegboard Ben. But in no way does it replace the for sale section.

It is a generic problem with all forums. Personally if I want to buy something I normally search the for sale section so it doesn't really matter to me. But I can see that it does matter for 'impulse' purchases. It just requires a little conservation on posts and for people to use edit rather than reply. Should be easy enough.

Same here, I just edit the first post and stick SOLD wherever I can fit it in...

i thought we're supposed to lock the threads when sold/not needed anymore?

I'm an offender as like closing the thread but can't without a post? Will ammend how I do it from now.

That would be a nice solution to be able to close without post then just ammend ad and close.

Hey B sell your stuff quicker then no problem ;-)

Can people please STOP changing the price of their items with 'Sold' as it's difficult to get a gauge on the general price of items. When putting stuff for sale it's handy to know the going price by lookin through old FS threads.

                        Cheers

On some more of my recent sales, what i do is edit the listing and put ##SOLD## in big writing right at the top of the original post... I also add it to the thread title too if it will let me. This way it doesn't "Bump" it to the top but still updates whoevers looking that the item is no longer available.

The drop down box "Sold/forsale" never seems to be available to me when editing a post some time after posting the thread?

What gripes me is when people don't update the thread saying it is sold... You get the fuzzy excited feeling when you think you've found something to only be told its gone..

In regards to leaving prices on the threads... this is personal choice i think, it does help to gauge a price however you need to take into account the differences between the two items and not simply offer the lowest price you can find for a knackard unit vs someone selling a newish one or in vgc.

That's why it's handy to know the prices, so you can see what the top grade stuff and the knackered stuff is going for and put up a fair price.

It's been a major gripe of mine for ages & I've given up going on about it as nobody on the admin team wants to be trawling for sale threads looking for mr meaners I'm sure. Maybe tho a sticky mentioning the practice is frowned upon & privileges may be taken away for repeat offenders?
