It's a lovely day (again) but the last of them for a while. Took Limpy (130X) and Junior (300X) over the field lunchtime.
Decided (for whatever stupid reason) to fly Junior first. It didn't last long and I'm going to have to check the video to find out why. Right now I can't even recall if I inverted him or not but it seemed to me he became very sluggish in control and started to roll to the right (as I recall it). I TH'd him and he plumeted to the deck. I seem to have blades intact but a broken link and one servo stripped. Bet your bottom dollar it's feathering shaft and main shaft AGAIN! Skid busted. Main gear is ok. I know Gary did a blinding job with him but Junior just does not seem to suit this learner (points at self). Everytime I take him out I bring him back in bits. Well, this may be his last chance. I do love BeastX and I really like Align. If I'm going to pay more to repair Junior than it costs to repair an Align 450 then I know what I'm going to go with and I know where the AR7200BX is coming from. I will NOT be sorry to see Junior broken for parts to be scattered amongst the forum members. There'll be a choice. I'll offer him up first as he is minus the AR7200BX but including 2 feathering shafts, 2 main shafts, 4 batteries and a main gear (I think I have one). It'll be silly money, too, but that's for another thread unless you fancy pm'ing me.
Right, on to Limpy the Olympian Gold Hound. MY GOD HE'S SO AMAZING!!!!! I've piled him into the deck over and over again today. Not because I'm a crap (shut UP Limpy) pilot but just to show you how durable this little guy is. The 300X is fragile in comparison.
Splat, up and flying. THUD! Up and flying. Weeeeeeeeeekerplunk! Yep, up and flying. All on video in glorious wide angle HD (ok, maybe that's not such a bonus).
I was inverting Limpy and (yes, Limpy, I know it makes you feel sick - TOUGH) trying to hold hover and control his flight and, at the very least, keep him in the air. By the time I got to the third battery I was actually managing to do just that. Even if he got away from me (Limpy! What do you mean by "That's what I was trying to do."? Honestly, no gratitude) I was bringing him back inverted, sometimes upright.
You know, you just have to do it to do it. You sit on the sideline and expect it to magically appear, get out there and try it, it's FUN! Just remember TH when going in. One of my inverteds I forgot IU (Limpy shouts "I know you did" then something mumbled). I was - Limpy was upside down and I was pushing to go down which is up when upside down (my head hurts) and I was slowly dropping. Yep, no IU. Reset Limpy and off we went again. Limpy took a lot of punishment but I started to come good. I mean, you can often do this in Phoenix till the cows come home (which they frequently do) but to do it in real life when the nerves are there and you are waiting to yank back on the elevator and move from + to - pitch in IU (yep, don't forget IU) then back to upright. Even if you crash it is still an achievement and it can only get better.
The little 130X flips so easily that it takes a huge dump all over the (Steve - covers Laz's eyes) mCPx. Get one. Improve it. Crash it. You can't beat it.
So, I should have flown Limpy first and then Junior and I might have stood a chance. Still not sure it was me though. Seemed to lose power. Will check video later.
I will post the video in this thread this evening but I will make it apparent that I have done so
I am SO hyped-up, pumped-up, overjoyed. YOU GOTTA GO OUT THERE AND DO IT!!!! LOL
