I would use 5245`s or get 9650`s from Hong Kong,i used Neogl and paid £112 for 3 delivered vs £150 over here
5245's seem to be like Rocking Horse Chit, most are out of them from the places Ive looked at so far.
Dont think I can wait for HK post so may take a trip out to Hobby Hangar to see what they have in stock tommorow.

Hi Arky having looked at your block layout you will definitley still be nose Heavy and I dont think you will improve much on the standard two pack layout..
Piccy Below is with the 2 x 3S 4200 and is the best I can do with the canopy mount Mod... and its still nose heavy. See how far up I can get the upper pack on the tray..
NOTE:- I also removed the excess length from the upper tray to allow me to lift the lower battery pack..This alone allows you to lift it up by 26mm. Slanting the lower pack to the upper tray gave worse results (BTW the spacer under the pack is just hard cell foam)
The fore/aft balance, pack wise is now approx 1/2" behind the leading edge of the frames. The horozontal balance between the packs is now above the main gear by a fair margin. I think that is the best we can hope for with the 4200's.. Obviously 5S will be a little better but I still think the two packs offer better fitting.
BTW there will hopefully be a harness for charging the packs as a single pack size shortly.
looking good Barney but i still hold hope for one pack and when it arrives i will experiment and see how it balances, a little nose heave i can live with.

If I remember rightly you are putting a 'proper' tail servo on it . So you shouldn't have as much trouble balancing the machine as the others...
Also quick update regarding the fried heli. The reason the gyro and tail servo survived is because the gyro has an in built regulator capable of 18V (possibly more for short spikes). Also the tail servo output is regulated thus protecting the 8900. Gotta love all these hidden failsafes .
