  • Thanks Paul and Trev

All the help and info is good,i have had bad luck with Align Lipos myself and i would be very sceptical about buying another but i am sure that the Balancepro would improve its chances to live a long and happy life

      • I have found that Align lipos are great for some things......like lighting fires

However, we will go with open mind (and closed wallet) and test them.

        • ashley, if someone else is paying for the tests i can live with that. i would be surprised if this offered anything over the FP2500 packs at all. altough i guess you don't have those to compare with?

if any charger is going to help i'm sure it will be the balance pro but it will never matter to me, i will never buy an align lipo again. it's just a pity i'm a twat and ordered 8 of them (4 for me, and 2 pair for another couple of guys) and they all puffed within 3-4 flights. they did replace 4 of them due to the "wet cells" and they all puffed within the same time again....sigh

          cheers

          • To be fair I've not asked FP if they want me to test their pack out and at the price they are asking I wouldn't buy one. Add to this that I think it's the wrong mAh and it's a bit of a recipe for disaster. Same with the TP 2200.

If either of them come up with a proper sized solution then I may consider doing some testing. But I can't see a huge amount of value in a Revo 2200, Revo 2100, TP 2200, FP 2500 and Align 2500 comparison when I'm of the opinion that none of them are the right size. The conclusion would be something like 'xxx is the best but I wouldn't actually buy any of them'. Which I guess is helpful in one sense but completely unhelpful in another.

I think the only reason to run this 2100/2200 (or even 2500) pack size is for sharing with a 450 and since the FP & Align pack is not two 3S packs but a single 6S block even that is out the window.

B/ what sort of performance could I expect compared to my 450 v2?

              • Martin, you would have the same situation as you saw with me and my 4200's at the weekend.

                  • For the cost Aligns lipos are good, I find that the problems occur when you run them until the esc cuts in, which is too late !! Timed shorter flights and your ok,

                    • Hi Simon,

As Trev pointed out, this is exactly the same as the 4200 pack he's been flying and it's not way too heavy. Here's hoping we don't have to go round this one again

                      • Hi Ashley

Will they actually fit? - The 4 x 2150 I had in my 600 weighed well over 650gms from memory ... and were pretty bulky....

                        • yes, the Revo 2100s are very small and over 30g lighter per 3 cell pack than an average 2100. One 3S2P goes on the top tray, the other slides underneath and butts up against the motor. The total weight of the pack is 569g. So it is heavier than we would like but it does work rather well even so.

LOL, not true, if they were under a pound each then maybe but the ones I've had have not even been worth the postage. I had a 6s 4800 20c thing that lasted 10 cycles of 5 min flights on a 600 and I sold my V2 2100 22c to Steve with only a couple of cycles and they both puffed shortly after he got them.

                            .... that includes Align ones

                            • the one that came with my SE V2 puffed while sat on my shelf, wasn't even using it. I've not heard of others that did this but I thought it was pretty impressive
