I agree with others, he was excited and could not wait to have a go, i have spun mine up in my kitchen just did not hover it. All aside.....should he have been given the Heli.....YES, should the parties involved checked he was fully up on safety protocols.....Maybe, but as he has owned them before, you would presume he would know this, which brings me back to where i began. He probably knew his limits so thought why not and ill show the guys here that i am making full use of the gift. He said in his post that he flew it outdoors after this. Dont get me wrong, i think what he did is dangerous but he wont be the first or the last to have a go in a confined space. He held the hover well and no harm was done, so i think neon has been told enough times about safety and now focus should be on his abilitys....

Skirt around it all you like but to just assume he will be fine based on (if that is the case) a few forum posts is irresponsible.
The helicopter was given to him by someone on here, he didn't go out and buy it. That makes anyone involved partly responsible for what ever happens and from watching the video luckily nothing bad did happen.
To commend him on the "great flying" in the video is just as bad, whether we have all done it or not.Last edited by Biffa; 27-06-2012, 06:43 PM.

I'm thinking about learning to juggle chainsaws, I've never tried it before but I reckon I'll have my first go at it in a telephone box. What could possibly go wrong?Guy

Do people just sit here waiting for him to Neon to open a thread so certain people can jump in and have ago at him?
We have all done stupid things while we were learning and hes just excited to fly his new heli is all!
Give him a break and teach him! don't make him feel down or bad
I can put my hands up and say i posted a video on here ages ago of me doing something stupid with my old CP Gold when i was learning and I didn't know i was doing wrong until i posted on here and people informed me, and because of that im now fully insured and enjoying my flying but also flying safe

My point is that just because someone wants a helicopter really bad, does that make it OK for those who don't know him/her to give them one - without truly knowing the level of experience/skill set or mental capacity of the person. Clearly the video posted above proves that no, you cannot just give people things because you feel sorry for them. It's a very nice thing to do but maybe not the right thing.
My four year old likes pretending to cut hair with Play Doh scissors, is that grounds for some complete stranger to give her a real pair and then say, well she said she knows how to use them?
