Take it up high, get the throttle/pitch to centre and just yank the elevator back and hold it...It will come around - I promise.

I'm confused, do you mean flip or loop? Because if you have enough forwards speed to to turn it into a stall turn then you're trying to loop not flip.
I went to flips straight away before I'd done loops, or stall turns. If you're like me what you'll find is you're so worried about it falling out of the sky you'll actually gain height because you give too much negative rather than too little. I still can't flip properly as I get the collective timing wrong and nearly always don't flip on the spot, but my backwards flips are better.
I say just go up reasonably high ( but not too high because then it's hard to see what you're doing ) and go for it. It's easier that you think

Pete I did originally mean loop when I said flip :/
I'm going to start with loops then tidy them into flips
Next time the 450 comes out its happening!!

Go comando or wear loose boxers, stand with feet approx 3 feet apart, spool up and take off....this is the key, wiggle your hips so your scrotum bangs on the inside of your thighs in a pendulum motion and GO FOR IT!

Don't wish to sound patronising , but are you happy flying circuits.Originally posted by MarkG_R1 View PostI went out with the intention of doing it today and came home annoyed I didn't
I keep putting it nose up high in the air then bottling it and doing a stall turn
I can flip the mcpx and hold inverted most of the time
Any advice other than "get over it" ??
The reason I ask is I have seen several new flyers progress :- tail in hover, tic tocs ,backwards flip, side flips all without actually putting the heli in forward flight and flying a circuit in front of themselves.
Some support the idea of practising new moves 2 or even 3 mistakes high. If your not comfortable in circuits and using plenty of sky this philosophy will be more difficult.

I was the same with my 450 and then even worse with my 600, but as others have said, go to a reasonable height, not too high as you may lose orientation and then just pull back the elevator, when you see the heli come over go from positive to negative pitch, then when it starts to go upright then back from negative to positive.
It'll all be over before you know it and you'll wonder what the fuss was. You may also want to land now and change your underwear

Loops are just an extension of the stall turn. If you can coordinate the entry and exit of a stall turn, whilst remembering to use rudder to turn the heli and cyclic to level it out, then doing a loop will be a breeze. It might not be tidy the first 10 goes, but succeed you will. Just make sure you have height, speed and most importantly a level entry, especially on a flybarred machine.
Good luck

I did flips months before I was comfortable to try a loop or stall turn. It's easy mate so as you've done it on the MCPx it'll be no problems. I can't loop my MCPx, it just bogs and dies lolOriginally posted by MarkG_R1 View PostPete I did originally mean loop when I said flip :/

The idea is to learn inverted hovering. Funniest thing I ever saw was a mate with a set of those trying to get the hang of it! More crashing than a demolition derby <lol> - all his take-off instincts screwed up.Originally posted by trexamanic View PostI saw some upside down training carriage on eBay.
I wasn't sure of it's purpose but I guess it let's you practice inverted take offs?
Would this be of any use or is it just a gimmick ?
I wish you the very best anyway.
It sounds a real milestone and you sound so close.PGK

I saw a vid of one of these in use on youtube, lol i'd rather not thanksOriginally posted by trexamanic View PostI saw some upside down training carriage on eBay.

On the last couple of packs i played about holding it inverted for a second or two just to get the taste for it
I was surprised at the blade fart i got as it comes back upright, didn't think i'd get that from a 450 so much
Whats next then?
