  • Just can't bring myself to flip the 450

I went out with the intention of doing it today and came home annoyed I didn't

I keep putting it nose up high in the air then bottling it and doing a stall turn

I can flip the mcpx and hold inverted most of the time

Any advice other than "get over it" ??

Try doing loops first, then after you get used to that, hesitate at the top. Before you know it you will be flipping flipping for England.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

I can loop the mcpx reasonably

      It's a mental/£££ thing I think

I know and i am sure there are many many more who know how you are feeling. Can do it on the sim, but in real life you hold your breath and start to go all shakey!

Best advice is to have plenty of height and just go for it.

Oh and be prepared for many more brown trouser moments as you start to learn backwards and inverted

Think of back to all the moves you have done for the first time and the buzz you got from it then just go for it and worry later

the way i look at it is if you can do it with mcpx you can do it with 450 because a 450 is more stable just build some speed in forward flight like you were doing for stall turn and keep holding in the back :P little negative on top you will soon get over the fear! took me about 2 flights worth of constant loops ! I used to get shaky thumps and everything but if you do it like that and get over the fear you can then begin holding it at the top ! good luck that first step opens up the world of 3D!

I saw some upside down training carriage on eBay.
I wasn't sure of it's purpose but I guess it let's you practice inverted take offs?
Would this be of any use or is it just a gimmick ?
I wish you the very best anyway.
It sounds a real milestone and you sound so close.

You will find the 450 easier to flip than the mcpx, I know I did when I had mine, you know how to do it, you have done it many times on the mcpx, which needs fairly decent collective management to do it, so just go for it, I can guarantee you will find it easier

I can sympathise, I have been trying to overcome a certain reluctance to turn left. Will turn right all day long but left is just scary for some peculiar reason. I just keep forcing myself to do it and can feel my confidence growing each time.

Hopefully won't be to long until I'm struggling with the flips just like you, looking forward to that next mental roadblock.

+1 for altitude, I only flip my mcpx and that is never less than 20ft

I learnt to do elevator tic tocs & hover inverted before i could flip or loop. I had a massive fear of losing it as it went through nose down skids in. I still cannot loop properly (except away & towards myself) & only recently have i got a bit of courage to attempt a side on loop but i still can't do them. I also cannot do a roll & don't think i ever will, however i can do piroflips lol, they don't scare me like a loop or roll.
Yes the big sigpic is coming back

If you can loop then you CAN flip. Gets some height...Man up and just do it...
