All down to the pilot thats flying it I think, certain people could make a honey bee King look like the worlds best 3d smackdown machine. ok maybe thats pushing it a bit but you get the idea.

all the new machines I think are unknown quantities as yet, but all very interesting, so I would edge towards the 700E
    All the best

I have to agree with Barney, but will also add...
Any model can be made to smack well, its blade choice and how its set up that will make it a good smackable model.

Totally agree with that, you only got to look at all the guys with the new little blade showing what that can do. As a bnf that's a cracking little Heli.

But if I were to say you can have any Heli with full sponsorship, would the 22.41% still chose a 700E??

I think the only valid poll results and from people who have flown a couple of the helicopters in the poll and can actually fly smack with them for comparision purposes. As has been mentioned we all watch people on youtube and at our clubs flying hard 3d but alot of that is down to pilot ability.

mmmm...If I had an unlimited budget for pleasure it would be a Henselit but I know Its really an exotic treat!

Whatever you choose stick to it. Put all your other Helis away. IMHO Far to many chop and change for no better reason than trying to be one up on there mates and see another 'Helicopter' as the answer.

You need to see your a Heli as a tool with a purpose then choose something reliable with 100% spares availability.

Practice takes commitment and ideally in all weathers. Flying twice a week, 6 flights doesn't cut it..

Prob Trex 700E but it doesnt give you much flight time.. 700N with a 120?

When you spend more on fuel than helis your heading the right direction

As most folk have a budget a 600 Hack is the norm for 75% of flying. Quality practice still needs to be done with your Competition machines but no point in throwing it into the ground learning new moves.

One excellent tip should comp flying be your aim. Always fly your competition flight from cold on arrival at the field

Yep, I still say there's no FBL system that can smackdown as good as a Flybar can

I think first we have to find out what are the characteristics of a machine to be a "smack" one. And them we can narrow down to the models that has them.

should be very agile capable of tight flips and rolls, light in weight, poppy/snappy

Put good servos and motor on anything, pretty much, and it will do what you say. Question is how many flights before it disintegrates

For me a good heli (smack or not) is the one which can cope with constant abuse and require minimum maintenance. Quality bearings, well engineered construction so frames don't twist under high torque, well fitting parts made from high quality metals/carbon fiber, non melting main gears.
We are starting to put 10kW+ motors in the helis and run 2k+ headspeeds on 700s, this comes at a high maintenance price most people don't take into consideration.

So far I have not seen a better quality "smack" heli than E7. It's just in different league than Aligns, Gauis and Outrages I've seen. While I am not a great pilot, I can recognize high quality engineering. I am yet to see a Whiplash, but I believe it's up there with Synergy.
