    TDR smack - YouTube

Very nice but to be honest it does look like it struggles a bit more with the agile stuff than other more hardcore aimed 3D machines, unless it is just this set-up.

I voted 700e. The reason being when you look at Zone, this is what the majority were flying, and there has to be a reason for that. I'd say that is purely down to cost. If you're a smack flyer than you're going to have misshapes. Probably a lot of them as you're pushing hard all the time low to the ground. So you need something that is relatively easy to repair, and doesn't cost the earth. I'd wager that 99% of smack pilots you see not flying a 700e are probably fully sponsored by the manufacturer of whatever they're flying.

ive got to say that the video of the goblin on page 1 is definatly speeded up, look at how he takes off and hovers over to the middle of the field. not alot mind you but enough to make it look a much faster heli then it actually is

              Agree with this 100%

There are a few vids off it doing 'smack' and it does look like its working a lot harder than others but then those that buy and are interested in the TDR dont buy it for its 3D abilities. Also those headspeeds I think are higher than most.

I bought mine purely based on its 3D abilities. Not for smack though.

Purely going on what I have seen in videos and read I would say the Goblin with the 700e coming in a close second. Although I still cant get used to the shape of the Goblin - doesnt seem right to me - looks a bit f3c....

I picked these mostly due to power to weight - the SAB comes out only slightly lighter than the 700e rtf assuming the use of the same batteries in each. Not sure why people are posting videos of smooth floaty 3d when we are discussing SMACK-DOWN!!!!!

I've always felt the capability of any heli is mostly down to the thing that is connected to the sticks, i.e. the pilot. Granted, it's good to have a great platform to be able to smack which is what I guess you are asking?

I would go with the Trex700e. It can do everything beyond what any of us can do as is true with most other 90 size electrics but with the added benefit of being fairly cheap and available everywhere.

Bert won the Smackdown 2011 with a 700E, so that's got to be the Smackdown champ until beaton

All a bit subjective really! A Goblin with align 610 servos and a scorpion 4035 aint going to have the cyclic responce and collective pop that a trex 700e with outrage HV servos and Scorpion HK-4530-540KV le ultimate is going to have. If you level the playing field and put the best gear in both helis I doubt there would be much difference in performance ( Knob goblin would probably be a bit lighter). Law of diminishing returns! The goblin vids do seem to show a very fast moving 700 size heli though.

I havent voted because I dont have the experience to form a valid opinion (7hv 7hv 7hv! lol although for smack I think the 6hv is better. Very light and agile )

                                None of the above apply.

Its the helicopter thay you can afford to fly as they can all outfly every single one of us.

The majority are desirable but its the guy on the sticks that matters...
