  • What mini heli?

    Hello

I have a Align Trex 450 which is in build mode at the moment

Im looking for a mini heli so i can fly indoors only and practice.

Im a complete beginer but want to learn on a mini before taking out the 450.

what would be the best mini heli to buy

i have heard people talk about the MCP X v2 but is this really good for beginners.

I have been learning on a Sim,fixed pitch heli and coaxal, now want a collective pitch mini.

    Hi Tom,
I have an mcpx v2 which I started with from scratch and without sim practice. Took a few days to get the hang of it but I can now hover indoors for a full battery (4 mins) in each orientation.

You can make it more manageable with your TX (I believe you have a dx6i looking at your other posts?) by increasing the expo and reducing your rates. 30% expo with 70% rates works for me.

If you have been using the sim you'll probably pick it up quicker than I did. I have had mine for just over six weeks and can do circuits, figure of eights and banked turns easily (outside of course). If you fly over long grass you will do very little (if any) damage if you crash.

    Cheers.

    Rob

mCPx is a good choice. Especially as you have the dx6i.

I had a new flyer who could hardly hover an Atom with 45 degree flybar hovering one of these fairly well in a breeze in 20 mins.

Great for the experienced pilot too

mCPx V2 is a great choice. Ive had mine for 2 weeks and I love it. So far I have broken the skids and lost a hub link but this was my own over confident fault. It crashes very well too.

I went to the mCPx after 4 months on phoenix and a trex 100s. I found it quite easy out the box but its very zippy.

Great choice Tom, got mine today and after the honey bee FP v2 this thing feels so quick, definately use the aforementioned settings to tame it down and you will have some fun.
