I wouldn't say it's solely 'new' members doing it though. It's quite common.Very proud to be an Align-Trex.co.uk Team Pilot!

Bumping is a pain in the arse! because if you dont bump it ever day then the item your selling in two days is on page 10 LOL
if no one bumps there own post, then i might be on the first page or even page two!
the for sale section will run better if no one bumps!!
ps i want to do a wanted add for a DX6i and can't boo

i think Bumping should be allowed ONCE a week personally
you cant bump on the BMFA you have to wait for your 10 days to run and then relist
also seems to be a fair amount of non modelling items in the list most days tooSteve - Instructor and builder for the Paul Heckles school of flying

At the end of the day if your selling something you want that item to be seen by as many people as possible, so the odd bump imo isn't all that bad as long as its as in the rules once every 2 days and not every hour or so

I think bumping other than price changes is actually counter-productive.Originally posted by paul35 View PostAt the end of the day if your selling something you want that item to be seen by as many people as possible, so the odd bump imo isn't all that bad as long as its as in the rules once every 2 days and not every hour or so
If people use the option to view posts that have changed they will see your sale item when it is first posted.
If people are searching for an item to buy then search will find it regardless of bumping.
If they read the 'For Sale' forum from time to time they will tend to scan down until they see things they have seen before.
All bumping achieves is to annoy those who saw it the first time and were not interested, annoy the other people who have posted new items that are being pushed down by the bumps and it mixes up the age of threads in the forum so those reading it that way will miss items they didn't see before.
Now if you change the price then that is of interest even to someone who has seen it before, but aside from that I'd say ban bumping completely.
