  • trex 600n flybarless

i have a 600n converted for flybarless and it flies very well but i was wondering if it would be better if i changed the main shaft to a shorter flybarless one.
    has anyone done this.

    thanks

PS changing mine more for looks than effect but it shouls speed up the cyclics as the heli will have a better c of g.

It should be quicker on the cyclics but obviously with the blades closer to the boom its easier to boom strike !!!

Exactly the reason why when I converted my 700N to electric/fbl, I kept the original main shaft.

only 5mm so it will be ok ;-)
dont forget you will need shorter swash to blade grip links too .

The fbl main shaft is 10mm shorter, couple this with the 600E pro head block and swash links and you get 20mm shorter overall. Inverted it feels more stable, the cyclics don't feel any quicker but I suppose that's down to your fbl controller. To be honest theres not much in it feel wise apart from the stability

As said, it is 10mm shorter.

I didn't notice any difference in flight but it should have made flips and rolls quicker.

so you are saying keep to the standard mainshaft

The FBL mainshafts look better too.

From memory, I also needed them as the FBL links would have been too short.

All depends on why you're doing it. if you go with the shorter shaft you need the 700E links, if you stick with the normal one then you need the 700n links. If you use the shorter shaft and the 600E pro headblock with the swash driver integral then you need the 600E pro links
