Held in Customs

As title since 4 Sept, ordered 3 x 6s 3000 nano techs how long do they hold on to them!

Sned them an email, my VAT payment letter had got lost. They sent a code, I rang up and got my lipos the next day. Usually take a a week to pass through, and as the 4th was a Sunday, nothing would have been done. They have only had them 7 working days, so I think you should hear by end of the week.

You should call them and see what's going on. They will probably release it with a charge if it was ordered from the hong kong site.

I'll wait see happens by weekend, who did you email Hobbyking or Customs

This won't be a missing VAT letter if the tracking shows they are still with Customs, that only comes after you see the 'released with charges' message.

This will just be customs taking their time, best case nothing to worry about and it will be released shortly, worst case they don't believe the value on the declaration and they are looking in to it more closely but that is the least likely situation.

just a quickie on this subject, i have ordered stuff from hobby king (so far about 10/12 shipments and waiting on a delivery now) l have never had a problem with customs, l do op'ed to pay the miniuim duty rate though hobby king - does that make any differance ??

just had six lipos delivered yesterday ,ordered from lowerpricerc .they were waiting at customs for 4days which is unusual as they normally clear them one to two days.

It is just a matter of luck really, the degree to which you ask Hobby King to lie about the value of the contents doesn't play a huge part in this unless you are reducing the value below around £18, at that point in theory there is no VAT to pay so unless the package looks to be suspicious at that value it is likely to go untouched.

I ordered 4 of the same batteries and they were held for a week before i got a customs demand for £21 i paid it online and they delivered next working day. and that was monday, happy days!

ok cheers Mark, the items i am waiting for come to £115.00 which is about the average cost of the items i normally order from hobby king --- so i've been really lucky up till now, bet i get cought this time now i've said something lol

In my experience.. b/c it has been declared £30, you will get taxed on it. unfortunately most of the charge will be charged by R/M or the delivery company for clearance of the items.

If it were declared.. say £10, should have cleared with no charges, unless it was checked for the contents.
