More Castle Creations Re-Calls!!!

So does anyone know the latest on this fiasco ? Do we send to USA or Belgium, Is it a repair or replacement ?

Advisory says to send to Belgium but peeps are sending to states as they seem more geared up ?

Grrrr Its bad enough not being able to fly but an official update may help us end users.

This was the last relevant comment from PdC, posted last Tuesday:

Belgium will get a small supply of controllers soon -- but quickest will still probably be to send the ESC to the USA directly. -- It's hard for us to estimate exactly how many controllers Belgium will need, so I can't be sure of the lead time to get the fix done through the Belgian office.

So -- it's more expensive, but will probably be quicker to send it directly to the USA.

Unclear if it is still a replacement process now they have updated the entire board rather than a component on the board.

THe reference to Belgium receiving 'controllers' might suggest full replacement and I doubt they are set up to do much else in Belgium, could be different in the USA.

I agree Mark its Belgium that are getting a small supply of contollers (not boards) so basically they are just distributing them this is gonna take ages.

By the way I google the Belgium address and it is the Protech warehouse, I'm not sure what the relationship is with castle?

I never recieved an email from Castle saying they have my ESC but I have recorded dely proof that they have it. I just wish I knew what exactly was going on.


Both my birds are grounded my 700e has no ESC and now my 600E motor is shot excellent timing

I think it will be snowing by the time we get em back.

Apparently the process is also different between the USA and Belgium, Belgium is apparently not set up to sent emails acknowledging receipt or possibly dispatch unlike the USA so the uncertainty is set to run on for a while I think.

Sent my first one to USA.. and got it back in good time. Second recall, I have gone and sent it to Belgium..Duh! Probably a bad move!? should have sent it back to the states again as I think it was actually the same price!

...Anyway.. guess I am lucky that I have another esc to stick on the 700e while it is gone.

More things to worry about it seems from over on RCGroups ...

Well bad news fellas. My 80HV was received last Monday (29th) and I never received any kind of email confirmation. I just called and spoke with a returns person there and was told that they had not/do not have any of the 80 HV's ready for return. His best guesstimate was ~3 weeks until shipment. So much for that 1-3 days.

So it seems if you have a 120HV the plan is working fine, others, not so much ...

I wonder if I should print off the confirmation off the royal mail website. Not sure how long that information stays there ??

I created a PDF file of the parcel delivery just in case it went pear shaped and they deny knowledge of reciept. That way you can easily send them the file as evidence of their reciept.

Consider this as a piece of pure guesswork, but I'd think very carefully before sending anything other than a 120HV to Belgium.

If they are still behind the curve in the USA on the other models I'm betting Belgium are only going to see 120's for some time to come.

Plus the cost of recorded postage, £10.35 for mine, makes a great deal all round.

Surely Castle could have dispatched a number of ESCs to the UK as part of a local exchange program via the UK distributer??

Just looked over on RCG and its looking like the new modified ESC's are landing now and they are new not canibalised old models. I'm not sure about us poor buggaz who sent em to Belgium tho we might have a long wait but at least things are moving now.

This is what they look like, note the new designation ICE2 (not V3 V4 etc..)

Good news, glad I went for the US option.

Interesting choice of colours for the ICE2 brand on the packet, red & yellow. Looks like a flame to me!
