  • Marking charged/uncharged lipos

Sorry if this sounds a stupid question but does anyone have a system for marking charged lipos?

Between all my helis I have 22 batteries and don't fly them all every week, and I don't charge every lipo after each flight

I'd like to have a system when a lipo is charged it has a mark to remind me of it's state, my mrs surprised me (she neither likes nor understands my hobby!) and suggested a rubber band round a charged lipo which I impressed me to be fair

Once I use a pack I wrap an elastic band around it. When it's charged again it's taken off. Simple and easy to see!

I put a band on mine also, have been doing that for several years.
                No band = no charge.

Why in the world would people still be using elastic bands and little notes when in todays technology there are battery checkers, just cant get my head around it, or am i missing something?

the note is simple and works
the checker is then used as a fail safe

                            This works very well.

1-8S Battery Tester Low Voltage Buzzer Alarm Indicator | eBay

Gives each cell volts and can be programmed for any cell voltage you want. Gives a nice loud alarm that seems to come from the tx. Even gives the total volts. Delivery took 8 days.

I label all my packs and keep a running total with a small pencil tick once it is balanced and as I put it back in the field box. If it ain't in the box, it's not charged. Any packs that have been in a shunt get a red biro mark. Helps me keep track of them, just in case they are damaged or a pattern of incidents develops. Bit anal maybe, but It also gives me an idea of how many flights my birds have done. My 250 has done 442 in a year.
                              Cheers
