would it not be better to hang the helis on a slope with the exhaust down rather than up?
They want to be tail down so gunge wants to run out rather than in the exhaust port - so muffler on the low side would surely be better still.

It is mate, an uncompleted project but I got rid now as I didn't have the time. Didn't get around to fitting the coilovers to lower it or do the interior, brakes etc. The other 2 pics are of a completed one I had before.

Not sure what you mean they are pointing down and the oil does leak out of the deflectors, unless I block them.

Nice, I've got a 1996 turbo (had it for about 7 years now!) toyed with idea of doing that to it a few years ago, in the end I had the engine bored out and rebuilt with forgies, methanol/water injection, spearco IC, ECU, stage4 turbo and 100shot nitrous, my friends' 600 motorbikes can't beat it on acceleration (pretty much level pegging), outrageous for a car Got a Mk1 as well, love the things, bang for buck they are unbeatable.

So whats the consensuses then? Is it OK to have 2 rope ends haning from a beam in the garage, with hooks on each end that I would attach under the blade grips, to hang the heli? Or is thios adding too much strain for long periods on the head?

                            It's fine mate.

I sometimes hang helis in a similar way.

Don't forget - when it's in a hover, all the weight of the heli is being supported at exactly the same point from the main blades as where your hanging points are, so as far as I rekon, it'll be just fine.
