What's all this about 600's not flying straight. Mine flew pretty straight from stock. Who wants to fly straight anyway! Lol.

Here is your post from about a week ago (not) bitching about Velocity 50 kit issues.

But now you are all 'yeah, just knock it together and it flies out of the box'.
Come on, just admit it, a Trex600 is easier to build than a Velocity 50, and probably more robust whilst were at it.Life's a bitch and then you fly!!

No way more robust, the Velo has a narrow frame spacing which makes it less prone to flex in flight and a crash, I have never done velocity frames in a crash, done quite a few on 600s. Also on the subject of crashing the Velo has been designed to strip the rear torque tube gears which can be replaced in less than 5 mins, the 600 always does the front ones which are a pain to change in comparison. Outrage TT gears are cheaper to buy.Mikes Place - Home of the golden dump.

I've never said the Velo was easier to build, they're probably pretty much equal on that score, and I have said a few times that my one reservation about owning a Velocity is how it stands up to a crash as I'm not sure it'll be as robust as a 600. However at the end of the day you should spend longer flying a Heli than building it, crashing it, cleaning it etc so the ultimate decision has to be made on which one flies best. Now it may be that if my 600 was FBL and Beasted it would fly as well as my Velo, but considering the weight & older design I doubt it.Originally posted by gorber View Post

When i built mine it was very nice build, Great to have a programmable head that has taken me from hovering, stall turns loops roles and now inverted. Learnt autos with it when the plug went at the top of a loop. Repair coasts are as aligns or cheaper and many parts are shared with the fusion
I haven't needed to touch anything from when i built it, just flown
Chris (chris jones 2.4) is are resident 3D basher and loves to have ago with the velo and says it flies better then his 600 and the vison 50.

After weeks of engine hassles (infact Ive not yet got it running properly) it spat its clutch shoe bearing. I've been chasing a vibration for weeks & just couldnt put my finger on it till I tried putting in the new os55 I bought for it. I tugged & tugged but something was holding in the engine so had to take the head off & remove the top bearing block. One of the 4mm screws had sheered its head off must have happened in flight. My suprise was when working out the cost to replace the whole clutch assembly
nearly £50 with a new shoe & bell with a top bearing block.
Makes ya wish you had stuck with align it does

martin so if i read this correctly the outrage is not as good as a trex 600 because you had problems with an engine LOL ;0))))Originally posted by rcslopesurfer View PostAfter weeks of engine hassles (infact Ive not yet got it running properly) it spat its clutch shoe bearing. Just kidding with you mate I remember you having issues with the clutch but is it all sorted now ??Originally posted by rcslopesurfer View PostThe vibrations been coming from the clutch Kel not the engine.
Should have noticed as bits were coming off the airframe on a weekly basis.
My main point is that people state how cheep the parts are but its not that much cheeper.

Can't you get the bearings separate, or don't they come out.
Anyway Martin if you compare these 3 items; I make the Velo ones about/ or under £40 and the 600 ones just under £30. But that is because the trex bearing block is plastic and the Velo one is metal, if you were to buy the upgrade metal bearing block for the 600 to truely compare like for like, the items are within pennies of each other.
You had a bad experience with a Rex 550 doesn't make all 550s have the same problem, they seem really good, and that was with a new model, this was second hand. You are never going to know when a bearing failure is going to cause a problem, it's unfortunate it's tainted your view of what I think is the probably the best 50 out there at the moment. It has cheap parts, especially the common crash items, light weight, excellent flying characteristics, swings 640mm blades. Bang for buck I believe it edges it, with no ill will toward the 600 which is a good workhorse no doubt.Mikes Place - Home of the golden dump.
