If your after a very agile mega 3d machine & you dont mind the more difficult build then buy a velo it does fly better.
i would deffo rather have a slightly harder build (although i dont think this is the case) and have a better heli ! there is no dought the 600 nitro has its place and is not a bad heli by any means
its just the outrage is better ;0))

At the end of the day they are both great machines. I've had around 2 gallons through my 600le with OS55 and i have to say i'm very impressed with it. I've flown it fairly hard and it has plenty of power with a 55 size engine. I don't think you can beat the 600 with their cheap combo prices and availability of parts.

I like the look of it with all the limited edition bling too

So your telling me you didnt fiddle with the engine to get it to sit correctly or you didnt have to mesh the gears etc etc?
None of that with a 600. Do up the bolts and go fly. They are far easier to setup and there is much more information available on them. I could make points about this arguement in favour of the 600 all day long. Im sorry like but i cant believe for 1 minute that any velocity 50 was built out the box without having to do some adjusting on it.

Guy's velocity did fly straight out of the box. Yes he had many questions and at times did not know what he was doing but that is because he is actually a closet Align Fan boy and used to how aligns are put together. He also did not referring to the manual when he got stuck. Oh he also broke the swash driver and stripped the thread on the bellcrank. But again that was due to him maybe exercising that particular arm more than the other!

Yes you have to mesh the gears and align the clutch and engine properly to avoid vibrations. Yes the tail case is a pig to get to operate smoothly. You dont need to be the brain of Britain to get it right though.

The 600 is so outdated and is showing its age. Yes its built like a tank but flies like one too compared to the velocity. Yes it is uncomplicated but again there is no scope for advance tweaking.

I have both.. Which one will i fly all day long?? Velocity of course.

I'm building my second velocity and decided to go FBL. I'm planning to maiden it the coming weekend and I'll report back if it flew straight out of the box or not.

I know what people are saying about the 600 not flying straight, but put an fbl unit on one and they fly real good!

It might not fly as straight as a Velocity 50 (from what I am told), but if I could only have one heli from my fleet, it would be that. It is the only one I dare try new moves on, and not only because of crash costs.

Nope! Anyone who knows me will tell you I don't do setting up! I don't read manuals or watch finless vids. All I did was left the bearing blocks & engine mounts loose til everthing was in position, spun it over a couple of times with my starter and tightened it all up! Exactly the same as I do with my Trex's.

It's actually true. It's sad, but I am emotionally attached to my 600LE and it clouds my judgement. I thought about selling it when I got a better heli, but not for long. In fact I couldn't even bring myself to get a better looking canopy when I replaced it, it had to be exactly the same design.

That said, even though the Velocity flies better (I don't know from experience, but I take your's and Jaco's word on that), you have to admit it was a bit more difficult to build than a 600LE? My first build was a 600LE and other than the missing Loctite in a few places, and needing your's and Jaco's help with setup, it was easy. Seeing the issues you had, even though not major ones to you, would have been much worse for someone without much experience.

My velocity flies better than my 600 did but owning it is a nightmare. Sure shafts are cheeper but have a look at the not so common items. I have had alsorts of vibration issues since day one the starter shaft also rounded out & I could only buy from one outlet which im told is being sorted soon.
I think it's luck of the draw sometimes, if you search far enough back on this forum you'll see the nightmares I had with a 2nd hand 600.
I can only tell it like it is and if a technophobe like me can put it together it's got to be easy!
I will admit that my Velo starter coupling rounded off the 1st time I flooded the engine but I simply hammered a 600 one on and Bobs your uncle, it's that tight it hardly even needs the grub screws!

So to sum up, all the people that have had both say Velocity, all the shee....ahem people that have only had the 600 say the 600.

I flew that Velo while Sacko had it Martin and she was crispy goodness.
