>> Dunno about a screw coming loose, looks more like a failed attempt at a backflip.!!
it was the elevator linkage at the side of the Raptor's pitch bridge. There is one lever attached to the bearing of the pitch bridge, and that's the screw in question.
BTW, to me, it looks more like a successful attempt at a backflip, but it's beside the point

surly after £100 or £200 repair costs and blaming the dx8 you wouldnt then go on and crash more planes and helis so the cost was at £1000 then go and make a complant. if my heli crashed and i found the tx tobe at fault i wouldnt use it simple. send away if HH say all fixed and happend again i would change tx completly... thats just me but what do i no..RAPTOR 60

After my 3rd lost link and resulting crash from the DX8, plus I don't know how many major software logic errors and glitches, I finally left the Spektrum standard for the lethal hazard that it is. Hitec's Aurora 9, Optic 6 and Optima Rx collection have been an order of magnitude better--more precise 2048 resolution with actual real time control, 100% reliable links, triple redundant Rx power, 2 to 3 times the programing features, sensible and intuitive programing, built in telemetry, and it is all much less expensive.Originally posted by horsham rc View Postsurly after £100 or £200 repair costs and blaming the dx8 you wouldnt then go on and crash more planes and helis so the cost was at £1000 then go and make a complant. if my heli crashed and i found the tx tobe at fault i wouldnt use it simple. send away if HH say all fixed and happend again i would change tx completly... thats just me but what do i no..
Good riddance Specktrum radio crash after crash after crash and Horizon's perpetually unanswered phone. For those similarly frustrated by HH's hazardous DX8 radio and glitchy Rxs, I highly recommend Hitec Aurora 9!
But there is one great thing about using Spektrum gear, you are a much better RC flier than you realize. If you can easily land on street with a DX8, switch to Aurora 9 and you'll be able to just as easily touch down on the manhole cover.Last edited by Z-8; 01-05-2011, 06:53 PM.

True, but history has proven that this does happen. The book "unsafe at any speed" proved this, where the little man took on GM and won.Originally posted by PeteStewardson View PostAnother vote on that from me.
What's just happened here is similar to me standing in the middle of a carpark and telling everyone I'm starting a class action against Ford and nobody should drive their ford cars... I doubt enyone would take that seriously without seeing the proof.Flying most weekends at CMFA - Trex 700 V-Bar, Trex 600n V-Bar, Trex 250 BeastX

Was there not a case - i might be wrong but I thought funny when a chap who drove a winnebago in the US, put on cruise control went off and made a cuppa it crashed and he sued them for not explaining the purpose of cruise control properly, slightly off topic but was bizzar.Cheers

Did it say why he crashed?Originally posted by Stuart View PostWas there not a case - i might be wrong but I thought funny when a chap who drove a winnebago in the US, put on cruise control went off and made a cuppa it crashed and he sued them for not explaining the purpose of cruise control properly, slightly off topic but was bizzar.

It says that the story was fabricated:
7. Mr. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City. In November, 2000, Mr. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32 foot Winnebago motor home. On his first trip home, having motored onto the freeway, he set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the drivers seat to go into the back and make himself a cup of coffee. Not surprisingly the Winnie left the freeway, crashed, and overturned. Mr. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising him in the handbook that he couldn't actually do this. He was awarded $1,750,000 plus a new Winnie. (Winnebago actually changed their handbooks as a result of this court case, just in case there are any other complete morons buying their vehicles). Yes, mine did go in whilst using Futaba gear but with a Spektrum module and AR9000 Rx. However, I firmly believe the fault to be the Align Regulator.Originally posted by Vic.P View PostRichard (aka Vartegrich) recently crashed his Trex 600 nitro due to a total loss of signal and he was using Futaba radio. Was his crash due to the radio being faulty? probably not and most likely due to a dodgey BEC but then who can be 100% sure when sifting through the wreckage?
All other models are working fine (fixed and rotary) and the Trex is back performing normally again with the only change being the regulator.
So at the moment, I have no reason to disregard Spektrum equipment in favour of something else.Richard

I'm currently training someone using his DX8i and 6 on buddy lead,
The heli is a Gaui x5,
the problem is the tail shudders for no reason for 1 to 2 seconds about 5 times in a 5min flight,
The gyro is a 760 and have check all linkages etc even changed the one way bearing thinking it could be that, but no joy it still does it!
My point is, could this be a problem with the TX as it does look like some sort of glitch,

Tripler,
Could be, but my dad was recently chasing a tail 'twitch' on his Trex600n and after changing everything from blades, bearings and and shafts it turned out to be his gyro.
As a last resort he took his JR 770T gyro apart and found the two circuit boards were loose inside. A couple of blobs of zap goo to support the boards and his never looked back.

Thanks, could be the gyro, tried downing the gain but to no avail,,
I did'nt built the heli or setup the gyro and have'nt use a 760 before so it could well be that.
the owner is a newbie so asking him Qs about the gyro setup at the field is a bit vague.
Guess I'll have to read up on the gyro,
hummm this training lark is getting to be a pain
