As others have said a T700 is good for crash cost and spares availablity so for a first 90 I'd probably got for that.
If you want something a bit more exclusive then Rave 90 but I'd recommend getting the FBL version unless you normally fly helis with slow cyclic

If your after cheap and cheerful then its the 700 / velo 90 .. If you want something that turns heads with spot on build quality then Avant Aurora
and they sound so " awesome " .. Ignore the squeekster .. He knows no better lmao ...

hirobo turbulence d3
if your not buying yet have a look at the new generation thunder tiger 90
it looks like the chassis is based on the x50
and as the x50 is a truely fantastic heli the 90 will be worth a lookHirobo Turbulence D3

This is one of those glass half full, glass half empty questions in my book. So far all the collective knowledge has erred on the side of discussing the negative aspect of the crash costs. But what the positive side of enjoyment? The grin that it puts on your face? The pleasure you get from building and flying it?
Every 90 will give you all of these facets, but some will undoubtedly float your boat more than others, depending on your personal preferences. If you're an out and out flyer with little time for building and tweaking, then the 700 is your best bet. If you're a more cautious type and enjoy slow meticulous builds and great engineering, then maybe a Blitz, Avant or Srimok would suit you better. If you are of the latter type, then you are probably less likely to crash anyway and are probably likely to not be overly bothered by possible long waits for parts etc.
The glass is half full my friend.

Talk about tempting fate. Just after writing this I went to run the engine down in the Srimok, as it was hastily put back in its bag when the rain came today, and the inside of the starter coupling melted. It isn't the cost that is the problem here, they are not expensive, but it is availability.Originally posted by gorber View PostIt's not just the price either. Spares are not that easy to come by at any price, for the Srimok at least, so you end up not really flying it properly because of fear of crashing.
Depending on my bonus in 2 weeks, I might get a Velocity 90 because it seems to have a foot in both of the camps you mentioned (cheap and available spares and a bit special). I am not sure how much progress I will make with the Srimok.
My guess is that it will be weeks before I am able to fly it again.Life's a bitch and then you fly!!
