Snap on or weller solder station kev... the only way to go. Im kicking myself for selling mine a few years back, my 25w cheepo wont solder 6mm bullets!

I have one of these... am on about my 4th iron for it but I use it every day for hours...

you can buy elements and crimp them into the iron or just replace the iron (which is what I do these days as its not worth the hassle TBH)

I use the 0.3mm pointed tip for most jobs, usually running 350C but when soldering 12AWG etc I ramp it up to 400C or 450C

For battery connectors I use :
Sealey Soldering Iron 100w/230v, SD100 at Tool Shop Direct
OR
Silverline Butane Torch No Gas, 868656 at Tool Shop Direct

For lighter soldering I use:
ANTEX XS25 25W Soldering Iron - Heat Proof Cable 851145 on eBay (end time 20-Feb-11 14:45:06 GMT)
Cheaper elsewhere.

those silverline torches are dangerous ive had 1 blow up and 2 the valves were faulty ,they might be better now but i stear clear of them...mick

Just a quick update, I did but one earlier, I bought a gas one from maplins, seems good, gets hot quick and did the xt60's to my esc no problem, next up was my 6s pack with 10awg wire, still no problem, until I messed up, didn't like the join so cut straight across both positive and negative wires, doh!! Search for... never forget lipo's are dangerous thread... lesson learnt
