There's an old saying that goes, "if you build it to fly it will be a good flyer, if you build it to crash it will be a good crasher".

Evo sideframes are about £18 a pair to replace if you do happen to break them.

...and a good long evenings work to completely rebuild the heli.
I'd much prefer Raptor (or Knight?) sideframes which can take several hits before requiring replacement - making the post-crash rebuild a much faster process.

Don't get me wrong, I do like my Evo 50 - it flies pretty well (with a couple of niggles). I certainly build it to fly
I just wish they had used better/stronger/thicker material when making the sideframes.

          Cheers,
          Rob

Hirobo frames (Evo) are stupidly weak and unless you get very lucky, they will break in a crash.
Obviously, the answer is to not crash

              Hi Rob
No model it designed to crash The idea is they are designed to FLY .
My trex 600e will vouch for that .
              Regards Steve
Ps guys if you listen to all the hype about any new model that comes
out from any of the manufactorers you will get stung every time.
Allways wait till there is feedback like this before you buy!

                Exactly right.

Then do it properly and buy a Hirobo or JR

I know - I was making comment on the post prior to mine which said "But you can't fly a Hirobo!"

I don't "do" hype - I prefer to formulate my own opinions based on personal experiences. Hence, you won't see me slating or raving about a product I have no experience of

Do you ever listen to your local hobby store owners, when i went to buy my first heli i was dead cert to buy a nexus 30, read the reviews and thought thats the 1,
Went to the local shop with cash in hand and walked out with a raptor30 instead,

Just a thought, mind you this was before this forum was setup and i before i discoverd other heli forums on the internet.

I tend to buy after getting info from many places eg, reviews, forums, websites etc. I'd never walk into a shop and go solely on what they recommended, I have done that many moons ago, fortunately it didn't cost me too much but I prefer a shop and staff that don't try to sell you what you won't benefit from or need or just because they happen to have them in stock or the latest thing to hit the market.

As bruce springsteen said "Blind faith in your leaders will get you killed', Ok so he was talking about the conflict in vietnam and the us government but the same thing applies to a certain extent apart from the killing don't take everything at face value.

Sorry but this statement is entirely incorrect....

the nexus was a HUGE steaming pile of crap, not just an ordinary pile of crap.
